Position: VP of Commercial Construction

FLSA Status: Full-time/Exempt

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in construction management, Civil Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction project management.

Position Summary

The VP of Commercial Construction is responsible for overseeing and managing construction projects from inception to completion. This position requires the ability to coordinate with multiple stakeholders, ensure compliance with safety and quality standards, maintain budgets and schedules, and deliver projects that meet client expectations.

Essential Functions:
  • Oversee all phases of construction projects from planning through completion.
  • Lead, manage, mentor, and develop project managers, establishing clear performance expectations and accountability.
  • Assign projects and allocate resources across the project management team based on workload, expertise, and organizational priorities.
  • Review project managers' schedules, budgets, forecasts, and project performance to ensure consistency with company objectives.
  • Provide guidance and support to project managers in resolving complex project issues, mitigating risks, and managing stakeholder expectations.
  • Establish and maintain standardized project management processes, reporting practices, and performance metrics.
  • Create and manage project schedules and budgets.
  • Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, and suppliers.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, building codes, and quality standards.
  • Review and manage RFIs, submittals, and change orders.
  • Conduct site inspections and resolve on-site issues.
  • Provide regular progress updates to stakeholders and executive leadership.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and records throughout the project lifecycle.
