JOB PROFILE AND DESCRIPTIONTo provide strategic leadership and direction for the Bank's mortgage department, with responsibility for production, profitability, operational performance, portfolio quality, development of strategic plans, and contributions to the overall organization's strategic plan.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Manage and Supervise the Mortgage Department - 30%- Provide leadership and direction for the mortgage team, aligning performance with strategic goals and production targets.
- Establish clear expectations, accountability, and performance management practices across all roles within the department.
- Foster a collaborative, solution-oriented team culture aligned with the bank's mission and values.
- Oversee staffing levels, resource allocation, and workflow distribution to support efficiency and growth.
- Responsible for the management of the department's compliance program ensuring strong adherence to mortgage and general regulatory requirements including annual HMDA reporting.
Manage and Grow Portfolios - 30% - Drive mortgage production through strategic growth initiatives, referral development, and market expansion.
- Lead the development and direction of marketing strategies and campaigns to support mortgage production and brand visibility.
- Oversee portfolio (in-house and secondary market loans) performance to ensure strong credit quality, profitability, and risk management. Responsible for managing loan workout processes to minimize bank losses. Prepare necessary reports to inform senior management and the Board of credit quality issues.
- Develop and maintain competitive mortgage products.
- Develop loan pipeline monitoring activities, including preparing applicable reports and communicating with senior leadership/Board. Track closed loan activity as compared to annual goals.
- Supervise mortgage operations activities ensuring timely and accurate handling of all mortgage activities including file maintenance, payment processing, past due reporting, escrow activities, secondary market servicing activities, payoffs, etc.
Strategic Operations - 40% - Responsible for the preparation of key management and Board reports. Present to the Board when requested.
- Responsible for the management of secondary market investor relationships, including third-party supporting vendors (mortgage insurance, underwriting, etc.) Oversee loan delivery commitment pools.
- Working with the CFO, develop and implement a loan pricing model, including fees, that ensures compliance with regulations and remains competitive in the market. Stay abreast of interest rate changes and recommend changes to the loan pricing model as needed.
- Working with the CFO, develop and monitor the annual department budget as well as performance compared to plan.
- Develop annual department production targets and other department initiatives, aligned with the department and overall organization strategic plan.
- Work with the CEO to develop and implement a department-specific strategic plan. Responsible for execution of the approved plan.
- Partner with senior leadership on strategic planning, departmental performance, and continuous improvement initiatives, ensuring the department's strategic plan aligns with the overall organization's strategic plan.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree, preferably in Accounting, Business, Economics, Finance, or a closely related field, required.
- Minimum 5 years of Mortgage sales experience is required.
- Minimum 3 years of managing staff and department activities.
- Proven experience in building a network outside of current market areas is highly preferred.
- Proven ability to meet sales goals and quotas.
- Experience in reading, analyzing, and interpreting financial reports and legal documents.
- Proven experience in developing and maintaining positive inter-departmental relationships.
- Strong team-building skills, local networking, and recruitment sources, as well as experience coaching and developing direct reports.
SCHEDULEThese are full-time positions with flexible scheduling Monday - Friday between 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

Salary Description
$100,000 - $140,000 annually
