Full Job Description
The Vice President of Marketing supports the development and implementation of strategies and plans in all areas of marketing, communication, and brand management. The role supports and collaborates with the cross functional teams and key corporate stakeholders. Provides for the production and distribution of marketing activities. Confers with customers to evaluate and promote possibilities for improved and expanded trade and product marketing. Provides top management with market value estimates and conditions. Determines method of display. Directs sales aids, advertising promotional programs and field services.

Position Responsibilities may include:

  • Direct and coordinate marketing activities and policies to promote products and services, working with advertising and promotion managers.
  • Identify, develop, or evaluate marketing strategy, based on knowledge of establishment objectives, market characteristics, and cost and markup factors.
  • Direct the hiring, training, or performance evaluations of marketing or sales staff and oversee their daily activities.
  • Cultivate and nurture a spirit of people centered management, collaboration, accountability, and innovation
  • Supports organization strategic planning and execution.
  • Manage marketing communication, advertising, and product marketing people resources.
  • Conducts research and analysis of market conditions, customer requirements and marketing effectiveness.
  • Responsible for all marketing communications and press releases that properly position company and brand.
  • Execute, measure, test and improve promotional campaigns for greatest impact.
  • Compile lists describing product or service offerings.
  • Initiate market research studies or analyze their findings.
  • Use sales forecasting or strategic planning to ensure the sale and profitability of products, lines, or services, analyzing business developments and monitoring market trends.
  • Coordinate or participate in promotional activities or trade shows, working with developers, advertisers, or production managers, to market products or services.
  • Develop integrated marketing plans that engage with customers through various methods including collateral, events, loyalty marketing, email marketing and online marketing venues.
  • Oversee all Public Relations outreach.
  • Create and negotiate Media Plan.
  • Work in conjunction with Sales and Product Development to define key selling propositions for various products.
  • Oversee development of all marketing materials: advertising, collaterals, website, email blasts, brochures -- including content, creation and design.
  • Perform additional projects/duties to support ongoing business needs.

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Advanced knowledge of entire direct selling process; including overcoming objections & closing the sale.
  • Experience in developing and leading a sales force in multiple locations.
  • Proven leader with exceptional track record developing marketing, digital, brand and product strategies
  • Proven ability to generate, lead, develop and motivate a highly skilled and innovative trade and product marketing team
  • Experience in managing budgets and meeting/exceeding financial targets
  • Knowledge of the product manufacturing processes. • Knowledge of development, implementation, and tracking of projects.
  • Intermediate computer - Excel, Word, PowerPoint, CRM.
  • Ability to think strategically/analytically with a strong creative mindset
  • Conflict resolution for staff and customers.
  • Effective use of negotiation techniques.
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage and influence external marketing resources
  • Sets clear and specific short- and long-term performance goals and expectations for self and employees.
