LandGate, a Wood Mackenzie business, is a fast-growing vertical intelligence platform for data centers, energy, and infrastructure. We are seeking an experienced and visionary VP, Head of Transmission Products to lead the development of our transmission products (ATC and Offtake), as well as to provide technical leadership supporting the new logo and client success teams in their sales efforts. The ideal candidate brings extensive executive leadership experience from the data center, infrastructure, or renewable energy industries, with a proven track record of transmission work in the US. Responsibilities Product Development • Supervision and architecture of transmission product development • Manage the product division that has a transmission team led by a Director, an Energy & Infrastructure team, a Data Center team, and a team of 18 offshore contractors • Note that this responsibility will be carried out by the President and CEO to give enough time to settle in the new position • Collaborate with client success team, sales team, and development team to set priorities for product development Transmission Product Development • Lead the continued development of Fusion AI, translating complex power flow, interconnection, and transmission planning workflows into scalable, intuitive product capabilities. • Integrate Fusion AI with LandGate’s proprietary and rapidly changing datasets including generator and large load interconnection requests, transmission infrastructure, project development pipelines, and market data to keep analyses current and deliver differentiated grid insights. • Develop and validate Fusion AI workflows for renewable, storage, data center, and large load developers, as well as transmission planners, utilities, engineering firms, and infrastructure investors. • Provide technical expertise on injection and offtake capacity, helping current or future customers navigate interconnection processes and grid integration challenges. • Work closely with internal teams—including product, engineering, and client success - to refine SaaS tools that enhance interconnection analysis and reporting. • Create technical content for white papers, blogs, and other sales and marketing materials that communicate LandGate's core value proposition with insights on interconnection challenges and solutions. • Analyze and interpret interconnection tariffs, queue data, and utility system conditions to advise customers on optimal project siting and feasibility. • Develop and deliver technical materials, training, and presentations to customers, equipping them with insights on interconnection constraints and opportunities. • Conduct and review power flow studies, interconnection feasibility assessments, and system impact reports to support customer decision-making. • Quality control of transmission reports, reported capacities, and grid infrastructure data • Support internal and external sales efforts with technical expertise related to grid infrastructure and injection/offtake capacity studies • Mentor junior employees and share expertise across business units Sales support • Participate in sales and support calls as needed Company and Product Strategy • Play a key role in company strategy • Lead product strategies Knowledge and Skills • Knowledge of utility system operation, and interconnection process • Software knowledge - PSSe, PSLF,Powerworld, TARA, UPLAN, Promod, Gridview, Terra • Detailed knowledge of power load flow modeling and results • Working knowledge of high voltage equipment • Ability to provide concise feedback on technical subjects to non- technical personnel • Familiarity with SCADA equipment & communications • Ability to develop scopes of work for outside consultants and contractors Experience Level and Education • Minimum of 5 years of high voltage electrical system experience, preferably with a utility, system operator or independent power producer • Minimum of 2 years experience with managing the transmission interconnection process for power plants (wind, solar, or thermal) • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (or similar engineering background) with an emphasis on Power Systems preferred • Professional Engineer (Electrical) license preferred Qualities • Professional with a strong work ethic and a positive attitude • Self-motivated, driven, and results- oriented • Collaborative: Works and plays well with others • Comfortable in, and excited about, working in a dynamic organization • Strong organizational skills enabling candidate to manage many projects simultaneously
