OverviewThe Vice President of Finance is responsible for leading financing activities in support of its rapidly growing energy infrastructure program. They are supporting the EaaS development team in the structuring and funding of long-term partnerships ranging from 15- to 50-years and up to $1 billion.
Responsibilities- Provides expertise in the structuring of debt and/or equity from origination, through development and negotiation, to commercial operation.
- Leverages in-house and third party expertise in project finance, credit analysis, and financial modeling to inform the structuring of programs.
- Supports the initial credit qualification, indicative pricing in due diligence, negotiation of financing arrangements, and ultimately funding of utility infrastructure partnerships.
- Proactively researches, analyzes and reports market conditions, investor reactions, comps, and projections across taxable, tax-exempt, and swap markets.
- Provides critical and timely input on modeling assumptions for EaaS proposals.
- Assesses and structures financings to maximize market attractiveness and deliver the most effective cost of capital.
- Manages the Green Financing Framework and third party certification processes.
- Manages the Companies credit modeling and Nationally Recognized Statistical Rating Organization (NRSRO) processes, including credit rating presentations.
- Liaises with private investors in ongoing partnerships and foster new relationships across all markets, including investor-marketing materials.
- Collaborates with legal and accounting teams in the generation of quarterly and annual investor reports during the construction and performance periods.
QualificationsRequired Education, Experience, and Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in STEM, Business, Finance, Economics, or related discipline required.
- Minimum 7 years of experience in project finance or related investment banking or management consulting serving related industries.
- Ability to work effectively in a diverse work group and across corporate functional teams.
- Financial Modeling: Core Strength. Significant experience building and reviewing economic and credit models, ideally in a project finance, infrastructure, or energy-as-a-service context.
- Credit Analysis: High. A demonstrated understanding of the credit rating process and ability to project the impact of action or inaction.
- Business Development: Moderate. Significant investor-facing experience, including demonstrated success and credibility in developing content and fostering and sustaining investor relationships.
- Ability to leverage existing relationships and cultivate new investor relations with large, private placement investors.
- Strong problem-solver who is intellectually curious and has a strategic mind-set.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and group presentation skills, including a demonstrated ability to tailor presentation of concepts that are technical or complex in nature to an audience.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate while driving and building consensus with diverse internal and external stakeholders.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Detail-oriented and willing to tackle various ongoing projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Versed in the industry and the Company's competitors.
- Ability to multitask and perform duties outside of the scope of work when necessary.
Preferred Education, Experience, and Qualifications- MBA, CFA, or JD.
- Experience in the private placement market.
- Experience with healthcare, higher education, industrials, or energy sectors.
- Project Finance: Core Strength.
- Deep understanding of project finance concepts and private placement market standards.
- Experience in infrastructure development activities.
Travel Requirements- 10% of time will be spent traveling to job site(s)/office location.
