Role Purpose

As Vice President, Commercial Performance, you will lead the end-to-end commercial performance agenda for US Convenience & Mobility, a large-scale, multi-channel business serving over three million customers across company-owned, franchise, and partner networks. Reporting to the USCM CEO, you will be accountable for driving sustainable revenue growth, customer engagement, market share expansion, and profitability across key commercial portfolios and strategic growth platforms.

You will own a focused portfolio of commercial business capabilities, including consumer card, fleet, strategic partnerships, loyalty, and payments. These commercial portfolios account for more than $200m+ in Gross Margin delivery annually. This role carries responsibility for optimizing the value of these portfolios, accelerating growth, optimizing return on investment, and ensuring the commercial portfolio delivers measurable financial and customer outcomes. You will oversee commercial performance across multiple revenue streams and customer segments while shaping the roadmap for future growth, innovation, and competitive differentiation.

You will translate enterprise strategy into actionable commercial initiatives, establishing performance targets, governance, and intervention plans that improve business outcomes. Employing advanced analytics, customer insights, and market intelligence, you will identify growth opportunities, uncover performance gaps, and drive execution of initiatives that enhance customer acquisition, retention, frequency, spend, and profitability.

The role requires extensive cross-functional leadership and influence across USCM operations, merchandising, integrated value chains, marketing, digital, loyalty, pricing, finance, technology, and customer experience teams. You will unite partners around shared commercial objectives, align investments to strategic priorities, and ensure capabilities are effectively deployed to generate enterprise value. You will also serve as a key advisor to executive leadership, providing performance insights, strategic recommendations, and business interventions that accelerate growth and improve returns.

This position operates at significant scale, requiring leadership across a complex multi-billion-dollar commercial environment with responsibility for enterprise-wide growth initiatives, strategic partnerships, and commercial transformation programs. Success in this role requires a blend of strategic vision, commercial acumen, operational expertise, analytical rigor, and the ability to lead through influence across a broad and diverse landscape.

Key Accountabilities

Own and drive the commercial performance across the USCM business working in partnership with the USCM leadership team and XLT to drive outcomes both within business areas and across the multi-channel and brand portfolio.

  • Own the performance management of fuels, consumer card, fleet, partnerships, loyalty, payments, and enterprise engagement platforms.
  • Drive revenue growth, profitability, customer acquisition, retention, and lifetime value across commercial portfolios.
  • Own the organizational engagement, social/site activation and communications team to drive the overall customer, consumer, and business critical communications strategy.
  • Own the governance processes, and intervention frameworks to improve business performance.
  • Partner across operations, merchandising, marketing, digital, finance, and technology to accelerate execution and value realization.
  • Identify and prioritize strategic growth opportunities through customer, market, and performance analytics.
  • Influence investment decisions and resource allocation to increase commercial returns and enterprise value creation.
  • Lead cross-functional initiatives that strengthen competitive positions, drive innovation, and support long-term business growth.
  • Provide executive-level performance insights, strategic recommendations, and action plans to the USCM CEO and leadership team.
  • Build and develop high-performing teams while fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

What you will need to be successful

  • Minimum of 10+ years in commercial strategy, business performance, customer growth, marketing, loyalty, retail, payments, partnerships, or related commercial functions within large-scale consumer, retail, convenience, fuel, mobility, hospitality, financial services, or multi-site operating environments.
  • Proven success leading commercial performance across multi-channels with direct accountability for revenue growth, profitability, market share expansion, customer engagement, and value creation across multiple channels, brands, and customer segments.
  • Demonstrated experience managing and optimizing complex commercial portfolios, including loyalty, payments, consumer financial products, fleet, strategic partnerships, and growth programs, with responsibility for significant P&L or gross margin contribution.
  • Deep expertise in developing and delivering enterprise-wide commercial strategies that translate business objectives into measurable performance outcomes, including revenue acceleration, customer acquisition, retention, frequency, spend, and lifetime value growth.
  • Track record of leading large-scale, cross-functional initiatives involving operations, marketing, merchandising, digital, finance, technology, customer experience, pricing, and commercial organizations to achieve strategic and financial objectives.
  • Experience leading business transformation, commercial optimization, or enterprise growth programs within highly complex, matrixed organizations, including governance, change management, capability development, and performance management frameworks.
  • Strong understanding of customer engagement ecosystems, including loyalty, CRM, payments, partnerships, personalization, and omnichannel customer journeys.
  • Proven ability to establish and oversee robust performance management processes, including critical metric frameworks, forecasting, intervention planning, operating rhythms, and accountability mechanisms that drive sustained business results.
  • Experience managing strategic external relationships, including major commercial partners, financial institutions, technology providers, payment networks, loyalty partners, and other growth-oriented alliances.
  • Demonstrated success building, leading, and developing high-performing teams, fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, collaboration, inclusivity, and continuous improvement.

Who you will work with

You'll work with the Chief Merchant, Integrated Performance Leadership across the value chains of US, consumer card/partnerships/fleet teams, loyalty and card platform teams, Operations, Food leadership, Marketing, Digital and Technology, and Finance. This role reports to the USCM CEO.

How much do we pay (Base)? ($163,000 - $233,000) *Note that the pay range listed for this position is a genuinely expected and reasonable estimate of the range of possible base compensation at the time of posting. This position is eligible for US Benefits 6 Select. This position offers paid vacation depending on your years of relevant industry experience and will range from 120 6 240 hours of vacation per year for full time employees (60 - 240 hours of vacation per year for part time employees). You will also be eligible for 9 paid holidays per year and 2 personal choice holidays.
