OverviewThe VP, Commercial Loan Officer - C&I will identify, acquire and develop new and existing profitable business relationships with Commercial & industrial (7C&I8) owners, investors and developers within the Bank6s market area. The role is responsible for growing the Bank6s loan commitments and deposit balances.
Responsibilities
- Develop and retain C&I business by meeting with prospects and existing customers having financing needs of average to significant complexity.
- Solicits credit-worthy potential and existing clients in an effort to develop new business and increase or retain existing business.
- Follow prescribed daily regimen of prospecting activities targeting prospective borrowers including commercial property buyers, owners, mortgage brokers, CPA6s, attorneys and bank personnel in assigned branches pursuant to sales leads and referrals intended to generate new loans and deposits.
- Coordinate with commercial underwriting, risk and credit management to ensure that all potential transactions and relationships meet internal underwriting and risk guidelines.
- Manage existing portfolios and monitor the financial condition of accounts in relation to acceptable risks, including timely written loan renewal request presentations, diligent collection of past due payments, regular documented site visits and maintaining properly documented and up to date loan files.
- Interview applicants to develop information concerning their real estate financing needs as well as determining financial feasibility of the loan request.
- Provide various financing options and counsel to customers and prospective customers.
- Presents loan requests for committee review.
- Manage all phases of the sales life cycle including but not limited to lead generation and sourcing, relevant systems, loan policies and structure, product knowledge, and financial analysis.
- Utilize decision making tools and credit analysis skills to make appropriate credit and structuring decisions.

Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor's degree is strongly preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in lending or related field required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite required.
- Prior experience with Abrigo preferred.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret financial statements, accounting papers, income tax returns, bank policies, and governmental regulations.
- Acute attention to detail needed.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent customer service skills

Perform routine and typical tasks of an office such as typing, taking notes, reading/reviewing, computer work, filing, copying, answering phones, etc. that may require employee to view, stand, stoop, kneel, or crouch and lift. Position requires frequent travel to client sites, corporate offices, and industry/ community events.
The successful candidate will be required to prove on the first day of work that they are legally authorized to work in the U.S. The Bank will not sponsor a candidate for a visa or for work authorization.
Compensation: $150,000 to $200,000 annually plus commission. Actual compensation may vary depending on location, experience, and other factors.
*Employee to reside in territory and will need to be available to come into the Fairfield, NJ office for meetings, trainings, and events.
