Summary
Designs, implements, and maintains virtualization and storage infrastructure to ensure high availability, performance, and scalability across on-premises and cloud environments.
Key responsibilities
• Architect, deploy, and manage VMware and Horizon virtualization platforms
• Design, install, and maintain storage systems (SAN, NAS, SDS) including arrays from vendors such as Dell EMC and NetApp
• Build and manage host/storage connectivity: iSCSI, FC, NFS, SMB; configure multipathing and zoning.
• Perform capacity planning, performance tuning, provisioning, and lifecycle management for compute and storage.
• Manage backup, replication, disaster recovery, and business continuity solutions using Veeam and Rubrik.
• Create and maintain automation and IaC for deployments and operations (PowerShell, Python, Ansible, Terraform).
• Monitor health and capacity; troubleshoot incidents, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
• Maintain security hardening, patching, and compliance for virtualization and storage layers.
• Collaborate with application, network, and cloud teams to integrate platforms and support migrations to cloud or hybrid models.
• Produce runbooks, architecture diagrams, and technical documentation; provide on-call support and escalate as needed.
• Evaluate new technologies and provide recommendations for platform improvements and cost optimization.
