What is this role about?McGraw Hill, the leading provider of digital and print educational resources, is looking for a
Vice President Sales for California for our K-12 division. This individual owns revenue generation for the full portfolio of McGraw Hill K-12 products for California. In this role, you'll directly lead a team of sales managers, build and refine the business strategies that drive regional performance, and adapt those strategies as market conditions shift. You'll partner with senior leadership to shape the broader sales direction of the K-12 business.
This is a remote position and candidates should reside in California. Candidates must be located within the United States and eligible to work for any employer. What You'll Do:- Set and execute the sales strategy, ensuring alignment with corporate strategic initiatives and partnering with senior leadership on the overall business unit strategy.
- Own attainment of sales goals - determining and allocating the tools and resources your team needs, and clearing roadblocks as they arise.
- Manage forecasting and budget, producing accurate forecasts throughout the fiscal year and overseeing the regional sales budget.
- Track market activity and adjust business plans accordingly, using market analysis to continually assess and adjust sales team coverage.
- Drive operational rigor across sales systems, with emphasis on a healthy pipeline and consistent call activity.
- Review key data reports and analyze performance, translating insights into strategy for the team.
What You'll Bring:- Bachelor's degree
- 12+ years in sales, including 7+ years of progressively senior management experience
- Comprehensive knowledge of sales strategy and product line management in the K-12 market
- Consistent track record of hitting sales goals
- Proven success building business plans, conducting market analysis, and managing budgets
- Proven ability to drive strategy using data analytics
- Experience producing accurate sales forecasts grounded in current market data and trends
- Strong communication skills with senior leadership, executives, and customers
- Ability to travel up to 25% of the time
- Must have a valid driver's license
Preferred:- MBA
- 3+ years working with an inside sales team
The pay range for this position is between $165,000 - $190,000 annually. However, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location. An annual bonus plan may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical and/or other benefits, depending on the position offered.
