Full Job Description
A well-established and highly successful Syracuse NY based manufacturing organization is seeking a dynamic and experienced Vice President of Operations to lead and optimize all aspects of production operations. This executive leadership role is responsible for driving operational excellence while ensuring exceptional performance in safety, quality, delivery, cost management, and productivity.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who thrives on understanding every aspect of the manufacturing process and uses that knowledge to develop strategic initiatives that support sustainable growth, operational efficiency and customer satisfaction. This individual will possess a proven track record of leading high-performing teams, develop future leaders, and create a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide strategic and operational leadership for all manufacturing operations.
  • Champion a culture of safety, quality, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Drive improvements in productivity, throughput, efficiency, and profitability.
  • Lead Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement initiatives throughout the organization.
  • Oversee production planning, fabrication, machining, welding, quality assurance, maintenance, and operational performance.
  • Maintain full responsibility for operational budgets, financial performance, and P&L management.
  • Develop and mentor leadership teams while building organizational capability for future growth.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership to establish strategic objectives and operational priorities.
  • Ensure customer expectations are consistently exceeded through exceptional execution and delivery.
  • Utilize data and performance metrics to identify opportunities and implement sustainable operational improvements.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Business, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive manufacturing operations leadership experience, including 5+ years in a Vice President, General Manager, or Director of Operations role.
  • Extensive experience in metal fabrication, robotic and automated machining, welding, and quality-critical manufacturing environments.
  • Demonstrated success leading Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen, or other continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Proven experience managing P&L responsibilities and driving operational profitability.
  • Strong expertise in production planning, manufacturing systems, quality management, and process optimization.
  • Exceptional leadership, coaching, and organizational development skills.
  • Excellent communication, decision-making, and strategic planning abilities.
