What will you do as the Vice President of Operations?

  • As a Vice President of Operations in the Operations department, you will lead and develop a multi-state team of State Directors and Operations Directors to ensure consistent performance across all business units, drive financial sustainability, program quality, and workforce stability, and build scalable leadership systems that enable growth and expansion. This role is accountable for selecting, coaching, and evaluating leaders; aligning performance expectations across states; and ensuring each business unit operates as a healthy, sustainable, and mission-aligned unit.
  • A typical day as a Vice President of Operations will include coaching and evaluating State and Operations Directors; reviewing multi-state performance data (financials, staffing, and program outcomes); making resource allocation decisions across states; addressing leadership or performance gaps; partnering with executive leadership on growth and expansion decisions; and reinforcing leadership expectations, accountability systems, and operating standards across all units.
  • As a Vice President of Operations, this is a primarily remote, location to be near Matthews/ Charlotte as this is our home state. This role is a multi-state leadership role that requires regular travel to program locations and flexibility to engage across time zones. The role may require occasional evenings or weekends based on operational needs, leadership support, or expansion activities.

  • Master's degree in human services, social work, business, public administration, or other related field.
  • Minimum 10 years of progressively responsible related experience in program management, preferably in the nonprofit and/or human service sector.
  • Minimum 7 years of leadership experience.
  • Experience as a leader of leaders required.
