The Vice President of Hospice Operations is a senior executive leader responsible for building and scaling the operating infrastructure that enables high-performing hospice markets. This role is designed for a modern, forward-thinking operator who combines strong operational discipline with innovation, leveraging technology, data, and AI to reduce friction, improve outcomes, and enhance both the clinician and patient experience.

This leader provides enterprise-level leadership to ensure organizational initiatives are aligned, integrated, and effectively executed across hospice operations. They are responsible for advancing performance management, operational consistency, and system-wide efficiency, while supporting best practices, standardization, and long-term organizational excellence.

This leader will oversee centralized hospice functions, including Intake, Scheduling, Volunteer Services, Bereavement, Journey (patient/family experience), Reception, Customer Service, Telephony, and Palliative Care. They will partner closely with market operational leaders to drive business outcomes through effective enablement, alignment, and execution, ensuring that centralized capabilities translate into measurable field performance.

This position plays a critical role in organizational strategic planning and execution, including leading or supporting major enterprise initiatives such as operating model transformation, system implementations, and post-acquisition integration.

While this role does not carry direct P&L or sales responsibility, it is accountable for influencing performance, growth, and quality across the enterprise through disciplined execution, cross-functional leadership, and continuous improvement.

Vice President of Operations Key Responsibilities:

Enterprise Operations Leadership
  • Design, build, and continuously improve scalable operating models that support hospice performance across all markets.
  • Establish clear standards, workflows, and expectations across centralized functions to ensure consistency and efficiency.
  • Identify and remove operational friction points that impact speed to care, clinician productivity, and patient experience.


Market Partnership & Enablement
  • Develop strong, trust-based relationships with market operational leaders to understand needs, challenges, and opportunities.
  • Serve as a strategic partner to the field, aligning centralized capabilities to drive market-level performance outcomes.
  • Influence without direct authority, ensuring adoption of best practices, tools, and processes.
  • Translate enterprise priorities into actionable support for markets, while bringing forward field feedback to shape strategy.

Provide direct oversight and strategic direction for:

    • Predictive insights for operational decision-making
  • Lead or support major system initiatives, including EMR optimization and migration.
  • Drive integration across systems to create a seamless experience.


M&A Integration & Operational Diligence
  • Lead post-acquisition integration planning and execution, including:
    • Centralized function integration
    • Technology and EMR transition or integration
    • Workflow standardization and process redesign
  • Ensure continuity of patient care, employee experience, and referral relationships during integration.
  • Drive value realization by capturing synergies, improving efficiency, and aligning acquired operations to enterprise standards.
  • Establish repeatable integration playbooks to support future growth through acquisition.


Strategic Partnerships & Vendor Management
  • Serve as the executive owner of key strategic relationships.
  • Advocate for the organization to ensure tools, systems, and vendor support meet operational needs at scale.

  • Ensure vendors are delivering value aligned with business priorities and frontline realities.
