Full Job Description
Currently, we are seeking a highly qualified Vice President (VP) of Finance to join our ranks. This role demands a professional who embodies our core values and shares our passion for excellence. Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, the VP of Finance will serve as the backbone of our accounting operations, overseeing routine accounting functions, producing periodic financial reports, managing the Deltek CostPoint accounting system, maintaining accounting records, and ensuring a comprehensive set of internal controls. To excel in this position, the ideal candidate will possess a thorough, working knowledge of cost accounting principles for government contractors, as well as experience working with DCAA or other Agency auditors and external auditors and tax consultants. **Key Responsibilities** - Supervise the operations of the accounting and finance departments, actively contributing to goal-setting and achievement. - Ensure compliance with relevant DoD regulations, policies, procedures, and generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). Provide hands-on direction for AP, Payroll, AR, Billing, GL and Project Control related transactions. - Manage banking relationships. Assist with daily and weekly banking and cash management activities and approve outgoing payments Advise CEO regarding cash position for all spending activities. - Facilitate the monthly close process and prepare accurate and timely financial statements. - Coordinate annual budget process and periodic forecast updates, providing ongoing comparison reporting to stakeholders. Prepare and analyze financial reports, statements, and budgets, delivering precise and timely financial information to management and external stakeholders. - Update accounting policies and procedures as necessary. - Collaborate with external consultants to address CostPoint-related issues, upgrades, and optimization. - Coordinate with external risk management broker for annual insurance renewals and periodic coverage updates. - Work closely with HR to coordinate employee onboarding, terminations, multi-state business and tax registrations, and other accounting-related matters. - Monitor indirect rate calculations and contribute to the preparation of the annual incurred cost submission. - Deliver briefings and project status reports to management, responding to data requests. Provide financial analyses and support as needed. - Coordinate the provision of information to external auditors, DCAA and financial institutions, as necessary. - Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings. - Participate in special projects and perform other duties as necessary. - Adhere to all regulations, policies, work procedures, and instructions. **Qualifications** - Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting. - 15+ years of experience, including 10+ years of supervisory experience. - Excellent written and oral communication skills. - Extensive knowledge of DoD contracting regulations and policies, preferably in a services environment.
