CAREER OPPORTUNITY SUMMARY

Keesler Federal Credit Union is seeking an accomplished learning and development leader to serve as Vice President of Corporate Training. Reporting to the Chief People Officer and serving on the Senior Management Team, this role leads the enterprise-wide learning strategy, including employee development, leadership programs, compliance education, learning technology, and workforce readiness. The ideal candidate will bring a bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience, at least 12 years of progressive related leadership experience, and at least nine years of people-leadership experience. Financial services experience and relevant professional certification are preferred.

SUMMARY

The VP - Corporate Training is the strategic leader responsible for the credit union's enterprise-wide learning and development strategy. As a member of the Senior Management Team, this role oversees all training, compliance education, and organizational training initiatives to ensure employees are equipped to support the credit union's mission, growth, member experience, and credit union strategic objectives.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Performs supervisory duties in accordance with the credit union's policies and procedures and all applicable federal, state, and local laws. Responsibilities include participating in the recruitment, interview, selection, and onboarding of employees; providing training and development; planning, assigning, and overseeing work; evaluating performance; coaching and counseling employees; administering recognition and corrective actions as appropriate; responding to employee concerns and supporting issue resolution; and supporting employment actions such as promotion, transfer, demotion, or separation in accordance with established policies and legal requirements.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Strategic Leadership
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive enterprise learning and development strategy aligned with the credit union's strategic plan and long-term organizational objectives.
  • Serve as the senior leader responsible for all employee learning, compliance education, and professional development initiatives.
  • Partner with leadership to identify organizational training gaps and implement development strategies that support evolving business needs.
  • Establish learning and development metrics, benchmarks, and performance indicators that measure business impact and return on investment.
  • Lead workforce readiness initiatives that support organizational growth, digital transformation, and change management efforts.
  • Foster a culture of continuous learning, employee development, accountability, and performance excellence throughout the organization.

Learning & Development
  • Oversee the design, implementation, delivery, and evaluation of all training and development programs across the credit union.
  • Establish enterprise training standards, learning pathways and development frameworks for all functional areas.
  • Ensure training initiatives support operational excellence, exceptional member experiences, employee productivity, and organizational performance.
  • Drive modernization of learning delivery methods, including instructor-led training, virtual learning, eLearning, microlearning and blended learning solutions.
  • Ensure all learning content remains current, accurate, compliant, and aligned with organizational goals.
  • Oversee the administration and effectiveness of learning management systems, knowledge management platforms, and digital learning technologies.
  • Evaluate emerging learning technologies and instructional methodologies to improve learner engagement and organizational effectiveness.

Compliance & Regulatory Education
  • Maintain record keeping for audit purposes of mandatory training related to BSA, OFAC, security awareness, privacy, consumer protection, and other regulatory requirements.
  • Partner with business units to ensure training supports regulatory expectations and organizational risk management objectives.
  • Provide regular reporting to Chief People Officer regarding training and completion metrics.

Organizational Effectiveness
  • Evaluate organizational learning needs through data analysis, business performance indicators, employee feedback, and leadership consultation.
  • Partner with business units to ensure training programs support strategic projects, operational enhancements, technology implementations, and process improvement initiatives.
  • Develop organizational knowledge-sharing strategies that promote consistency and efficiency across departments and locations.
  • Responsible for compliance with all Federal regulations, including Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC).

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

Education:
  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience which demonstrates the ability to perform the functions of the position required.

Experience and Other Requirements:
  • Minimum of 12 years of similar or related progressive leadership experience in learning and development, organizational development, talent development, training, or related disciplines experience required.
  • Minimum of 9 years of people leader experience required.
  • Experience developing organizational development strategies and leadership development programs.
  • Experience leading large-scale training initiatives, organizational change efforts, and workforce development programs.
  • Financial services, banking, or credit union experience strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of adult learning principles, instructional design methodologies, leadership development, coaching practices, and organizational effectiveness strategies.

Computer Skills:
  • Proficient in the use of computers and standard office technology, including Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams).

Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations:

At least one of the following certificates is preferred:
  • SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR
  • Certified Professional in Talent Development (CPTD)
  • Certified Credit Union Training Professional (CCUTP)
  • Executive Coaching, Organizational Development, or Learning & Development certifications
