Vice President, Musculoskeletal Service Line

The Opportunity:

The Vice President, Musculoskeletal Service Line reports to the President and Chief Operating Officer and serves as a strategic dyad partner with the Physician Executive. This executive leader is responsible for driving the vision, growth, and operational performance of a comprehensive, multi-disciplinary musculoskeletal service line across Penn State Health.

This VP Service Line role leads the development and execution of both long-term and short-term strategic plans that align with the health system's overall strategy. The Vice President collaborates closely with hospital leadership, medical group leadership, and system executives to expand services, optimize performance, and enhance patient access and outcomes across all geographic regions.

This is a highly visible leadership opportunity for a healthcare executive with expertise in service line strategy, physician collaboration, and healthcare operations.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Business, Health Administration, or a related business or healthcare field
  • Ten (10) years of experience in a hospital or clinical setting, including service line development, strategic planning, outreach, and marketing experience
  • Seven (7) years of progressive healthcare leadership experience


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Broad experience in musculoskeletal services, including multiple subspecialties within the service line
  • Experience as an ambulatory or hospital administrator
  • Collegiate and high school sports clinical and/or management experience
  • Demonstrated expertise in strategic, operational, and financial planning, as well as stakeholder relationship management
