Full Job Description
This position is responsible waste approvals and for developing and implementing a materials management strategy to dispose of hazardous and non-hazardous waste, either internally or externally, in the most efficient and cost-effective manner possible.

Essential Functions
  • Understand business - Develop a deep understanding of Crystal-Clean's business and the needs of its various functions related to waste disposal & transportation lanes
  • Establish and maintain cost-efficient network of outlets for waste - Drive companywide lower disposal costs by maintaining relationships within the industry and negotiating contracts to provide preferential alternatives.
    • Collaborate with internal stakeholders/managers - Develop an effective working relationship with managers throughout the organization to facilitate and negotiate effective strategic sourcing of disposal outlets
    • Relationship management - Develop and maintain strong relationships with disposal/recycling outlets and provide direct interface with the outlets
    • Optionality of outlets / diversity - Assess, manage and mitigate risks to ensure optionality (by sourcing alternative, cost-effective locations).
    • Efficient transportation - Work with stakeholders to develop and maintain efficient transportation lanes
  • Waste approvals - Oversee a waste approvals team to profile waste into internal and external outlets and resolution of all non-conforming material
  • Bid support- Support sales and the bidding process providing cost-effective treatment and disposal alternatives
  • Pricing/cost models - Build and manage pricing/cost models to ensure margin expectations are met
  • KPI's - Develop track and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness.

Work Experience/Education
  • Bachelor's degree preferred in related field or equivalent work experience.
  • Over 10 years in the hazardous and non-hazardous waste disposal/management industry with direct involvement in disposal activities
  • Work experience that includes the use of analytical skills with reference to evaluation of purchasing and cost data, development of trends, systems operations and expense control efforts
  • Experienced in operating in a regulated environment


The anticipated salary range for this position is $185,000.00 - $225,000.00 and includes benefits such as the following:
