DescriptionThe Vice President, Lending Manager is a key member of AGC's executive leadership team and is responsible for the overall leadership, growth, performance, and risk management of the Company's lending operations. This position oversees all aspects of the lending function, including business development, credit administration, loan production, portfolio management, regulatory compliance, and lending operations.
The VP, Lending Manager leads a team of commercial lenders and loan operations professionals and is accountable for achieving production goals while maintaining portfolio quality, operational effectiveness, and compliance with applicable regulations and program requirements. This position works closely with the President & CEO to execute strategic initiatives, strengthen industry relationships, and support AGC's mission of providing responsible financing solutions that promote economic development.
Essential Responsibilities:Leadership & Strategic Management
- Provide leadership and strategic direction for AGC's lending activities in alignment with organizational goals and mission.
- Partner with the President & CEO on strategic planning, business growth initiatives, and organizational development.
- Establish departmental objectives, performance standards, and key performance indicators.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, customer service, and continuous improvement.
- Provide regular reporting on production, portfolio performance, credit quality, and market opportunities.
Loan Production & Business Development
- Develop and execute strategies to achieve loan production, portfolio growth, and revenue objectives.
- Manage lending team performance and allocate production goals and resources effectively.
- Maintain relationships with referral sources, financial institutions, economic development organizations, and business stakeholders.
- Generate new lending opportunities through business development efforts and industry engagement.
- Represent AGC in community, industry, and economic development activities as needed.
Credit Administration & Portfolio Management
- Maintain overall responsibility for portfolio quality and credit risk management, working closely with the Credit Administration Officer and Senior Credit Officer.
- Review and recommend commercial loan approvals consistent with AGC policies and underwriting standards.
- Recommend improvements to underwriting, risk management, and credit administration practices.
Operations & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with AGC policies and applicable SBA, USDA, and regulatory requirements.
- Oversee lending workflows, staffing allocation, and operational effectiveness.
- Promote process improvements that enhance efficiency, service quality, and scalability.
- Support internal and external audits, examinations, and compliance reviews.
People Leadership
- Recruit, develop, coach, and retain a high-performing lending team.
- Establish clear performance expectations and accountability measures for direct reports.
- Support employee development and succession planning.
- Promote collaboration across departments to achieve organizational objectives.
Supervisory Responsibilities:Directly supervises commercial loan officers, loan processors, and other lending personnel. Responsibilities include hiring, onboarding, coaching, performance management, employee development, workforce planning, corrective action, and succession planning in accordance with AGC policies and applicable laws.

RequirementsEducation and Experience:- Fifteen (15) years of commercial lending, banking, or credit administration experience.
- Seven (7) years of management experience leading lending or credit teams.
- Demonstrated success in commercial loan production, portfolio management, and business development.
- Strong knowledge of commercial underwriting, credit analysis, and risk management.
- Experience with SBA 7(a), USDA Business & Industry, or similar government-guaranteed lending programs preferred.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and relationship management skills.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:Work is performed primarily in a professional office environment. Responsibilities include the use of standard office equipment, prolonged sitting, and occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds. Periodic travel, including travel within Alaska and AGC's lending footprint, may be required.
