WSP is currently initiating a search for a Vice President, Electrical Engineer for our South Jordan, UT office location.

This role will be responsible for the development of new clients and projects in the Healthcare sector and leading project teams to deliver those projects and grow those client relationships. We are looking to expand our sector footprint and need an experienced and connected individual who is driven to make and develop client relationships. Initially we foreseen a even balance of business development time and project related time for this position, with that evolving over time to be closer to 25% business development and 75% project workload.

  • Drives the performance of the facility-based higher education-focused business and strategically grows our market share to fulfill our goal of making WSP our clients' preferred, trusted advisor.
  • Manages local client coordination and cross-selling efforts in coordination with Region, District, National Business Lines, and Pursuit Management.
  • Represent the firm in the facility-specific higher education market through regular involvement in client and industry events and associations to promote intelligence gathering and pipeline development.

Operational Excellence

  • Develop local growth, forecast, and business development strategy in collaboration with District, Region, and National Business Line Leaders.
  • Resolves conflict and other internal/external issues that may arise in the office, amongst WSP's client base, or on projects.
  • Collaborates with regional, district leaders and other area leaders to strategically drive the business, assess and suggest improvements for project performance, oversee overhead expenditures, and focus on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs): Sales, Funding, EBITDA, Staff Hiring and Retention, DSO, Utilization, Backlog, Inclusion & Diversity, and Guiding Principles.

Expertise
  • Leverages our broad technical experience to enhance current and new service offerings.
  • Fosters the development of new and emerging innovations to remain the trusted thought leaders in our industry.
  • Advances the region's strategic direction in the location of responsibility for sustained and continued growth consistent within the context of the strategic plan.

Who You Are

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering
  • 12+ years of experience in the Healthcare Industry, focusing on a combination of any of the following: Engineering Management, Business Development, and Business and Operations Management.
  • Professional Engineering license required.
  • Previous Healthcare consulting experience.
  • Extensive knowledge of electrical design, particularly in the Healthcare industry.
  • Known in the local community with an extensive network.
  • Proficient with electrical engineering principles, practices, process, design/build, and the application to permitting and project work-related issues.
  • Experience with electrical planning, design, and construction management; including active involvement in a variety of renovation, new design, and construction projects.
  • Well-defined specific knowledge of relevant engineering and electrical construction laws, codes, regulations, compliance practices, and record-keeping requirements.
  • Well-developed ability to make technical computations and calculations involving the application of electrical engineering principles, understanding plans and specifications, and making factual comparisons to the appropriate regulations.
  • Demonstrated effectiveness at coordinating and assertively directing others to consistently complete tasks safely and efficiently.
  • Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP's health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
  • Experience in mentorship of less experienced staff to grow their knowledge, skills, and professionalism.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • LEED AP Certification
  • 12+ years of relevant post education experience as an electrical engineer.
  • At least 10+ years of Project Management experience.
  • Experience in Quality Assurance reviews and maintaining a high level of quality deliverables to clients.

Compensation:

Expected Salary (all locations): $147,200 - $218,570

WSP USA is providing the compensation range that the company in good faith believes it might pay and offer for this position, based on the successful applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities in addition to internal equity and specific geographic location. WSP USA reserves the right to ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and offer additional benefits and other compensation, depending on circumstances not related to an applicant's sex or other status protected by local, state, and/or federal law.
