Vice President, Healthcare - Project & Development Services (PDS)

Location: NoVA/DC | Business Line: Project & Development Services (PDS) | Practice: Healthcare

The Role

JLL's Project & Development Services team is seeking an experienced healthcare real estate and construction leader to serve as Vice President, Healthcare. This role combines strategic business development, client relationship management, and hands-on delivery oversight for hospital, medical office building (MOB), and ambulatory/outpatient capital projects across the region. The VP will act as the senior JLL representative to health system clients, ensuring the built environment supports patient care delivery, operational efficiency, and long-term facility strategy.

Responsibilities

Client & Business Leadership
  • Serve as primary relationship owner for assigned health system, academic medical center, and/or healthcare owner accounts
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities across capital planning, project management, and advisory services
  • Develop and execute account growth strategy in partnership with regional PDS leadership and business development
  • Represent JLL at industry conferences (e.g., ASHE, HREI) and healthcare real estate forums

Project & Program Oversight
  • Provide senior-level oversight of complex capital projects, including new hospital construction, renovation/expansion, and MOB development
  • Oversee scheduling, budget management, scope control, and schedule recovery for large-scale builds
  • Manage relationships with general contractors, architects, and design-build teams to ensure delivery against substantial completion targets
  • Monitor risk across active construction programs and escalate/resolve issues affecting cost, schedule, or compliance

Team & Operational Leadership
  • Build, mentor, and manage a team of project managers and directors supporting the healthcare practice
  • Ensure consistent application of JLL project controls, reporting standards, and quality assurance across the portfolio
  • Partner with PDS PMO and Regional Operations on staffing, utilization, and account profitability

Advisory & Strategy
  • Advise clients on healthcare real estate strategy, including outpatient/ambulatory expansion, capacity planning, and portfolio optimization
  • Support development of market research and thought leadership on healthcare construction and real estate trends
  • Collaborate with JLL Research and internal knowledge platforms (e.g., JLL Pulse) to bring data-driven insight to client engagements

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field; MBA or advanced degree a plus
  • 15+ years of experience in healthcare construction, project management, or facilities leadership - ideally with time inside a health system, construction firm, or real estate services provider
  • Deep familiarity with hospital/MOB delivery methods, regulatory requirements (e.g., state health department review, life safety, ILSM), and healthcare-specific construction risk
  • Proven track record managing large capital budgets ($100M+) and multi-year construction programs
  • Strong business development track record; ability to win and grow client relationships
  • Certifications such as CHFM, CHC, or PMP preferred
  • Willingness to travel as required (typically 20-30%)

Estimated compensation for this position:

160,000.00 - 200,000.00 USD per year

This range is an estimate and actual compensation may differ. Final compensation packages are determined by various considerations including but not limited to candidate qualifications, location, market conditions, and internal considerations.
