Full Job Description
Virgin Galactic is seeking a Vice President of Brand, Marketing & Content to define how the world understands, experiences and engages with our brand.

Reporting to the Chief Growth Officer, you will lead the Brand, Marketing & Content organization and develop an integrated strategy that builds brand equity, expands global awareness and supports sustainable business growth. You will be responsible for brand strategy, consumer proposition, paid media, CRM, demand generation, and conversion.

You will also lead Galactic Studios, our in-house content and production studio responsible for producing spaceflight livestreams and creating personalized flight-day content packages for our astronauts. You will ensure its work combines creative excellence with the preparation, precision and reliability required for live spaceflight operations.

This role works closely with the Vice President of Communications to align enterprise storytelling and major company moments. Communications will set and steward Virgin Galactic's company narrative while Brand, Marketing, and Content translates that narrative into brand positioning and commercial campaigns, consumer marketing, creative development, content production and audience engagement.

The position is based at Virgin Galactic's Flight Offices in Orange County, California, with frequent travel to our New Mexico operations facilities and select events and destinations.

Responsibilities
Lead Brand, Marketing and Growth
  • Develop and execute a multi-year brand, marketing and content strategy aligned with Virgin Galactic's company narrative, commercial priorities and long-term ambition.
  • Establish annual marketing plans, campaign architecture and investment strategy across paid, owned and experiential channels.
  • Strengthen Virgin Galactic's positioning and brand architecture, ensuring the brand remains distinctive, relevant and consistently expressed.
  • Direct integrated marketing across creative, content, digital, media, partnerships, experiential, events, CRM, research, and data and analytics.
  • Build programs for prospective astronauts, existing customers, brand enthusiasts, research and technology customers, and other priority audiences.
  • Partner with Sales to support demand generation, customer engagement and conversion.
  • Curate partnerships and cultural opportunities that increase relevance, expand reach and strengthen brand equity.
  • Collaborate with the Virgin Group marketing council and other Virgin businesses while maintaining brand standards and licensing compliance.
Lead Galactic Studios
  • Set the creative vision, production standards and operating model for Virgin Galactic's in-house content studio.
  • Oversee the planning and production of spaceflight livestreams, ensuring they are compelling, accurate, technically reliable and closely coordinated with Flight Operations, Communications, Customer Experience and other critical stakeholders.
  • Lead the creation of premium, personalized flight-day content that enables astronauts to preserve and share their experience.
  • Develop repeatable systems for capturing, editing, managing and distributing content from flight days and other defining company moments.
  • Lead capabilities spanning creative direction, broadcast, production, editorial, photography, video, post-production and content operations.
  • Establish appropriate production protocols, review processes and contingency plans for live and operationally sensitive environments.
  • Build a content library and asset-management approach that creates long-term value from Virgin Galactic's imagery, footage and stories.
  • Determine the appropriate balance of internal capabilities, production partners and specialist vendors as flight cadence and content needs evolve.
Partner Across the Enterprise
  • Work with Communications to maintain an aligned enterprise narrative and coordinated approach to spaceflights, campaigns, executive moments and other high-profile initiatives.
  • Establish clear roles, workflows and approval processes across Brand, Marketing, Content and Communications.
  • Bring together teams across Sales, Communications, Customer Experience, Operations, Engineering, Safety and other functions to deliver complex initiatives under demanding timelines.
  • Ensure every brand expression-from a global campaign to an astronaut's personal flight film-reflects the quality and significance of the Virgin Galactic experience.
Drive Performance and Build the Team
  • Establish objectives, KPIs and measurement frameworks for brand, marketing, content and align creative output with business priorities.
  • Connect marketing investment to business outcomes through disciplined analytics, testing and optimization.
  • Own the Brand, Marketing & Content budget, balancing long-term brand building with near-term commercial and production priorities.
  • Oversee agencies, production partners and vendors, ensuring creative excellence, efficient delivery and accountability.
  • Build, lead and develop a high-performing multidisciplinary team.
  • Create clear priorities, effective operating rhythms and a culture that combines creative ambition with commercial and operational rigor.
  • Communicate performance, insights and recommendations clearly to executive leadership.

Required Skills and Experience

  • 7+ years of direct people-management experience, including leadership of a multidisciplinary marketing, creative or content organization.
  • A proven record of building distinctive brands and developing strategies that contribute to measurable business growth.
  • Experience leading integrated campaigns across creative, content, digital, media, experiential and CRM channels.
  • Experience overseeing an in-house creative studio, content organization, broadcast operation or comparable production capability.
  • Demonstrated success producing high-profile livestreams, broadcasts, events or complex real-time content experiences.
  • Deep expertise in brand positioning, creative development and storytelling, with the ability to make complex or technical subjects relevant and compelling.

  • Willingness to travel frequently, including availability around spaceflight schedules.

Who You Are
