Responsible for the administration and supervision of the College's strategic engagement initiatives to support the development of alumni and community relations, including marketing, external communications, brand development and management initiatives to enhance resource development for the College. Supports the Pasco-Hernando State College Foundation, Inc. by planning, facilitating, enhancing, and managing a comprehensive program of institutional advancement for the College, including planned giving, annual and major gifts, as well as scholarship development and administration.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
These requirements are a representation of the types of duties and responsibilities that will be required of positions given this title and shall not be construed as an exhaustive list of specific duties and responsibilities. Management may direct employees to perform job-related tasks other than those specifically presented in this description.

  1. Provides leadership in planning, organizing, and implementing a comprehensive institutional advancement program encompassing marketing and communications, the Pasco-Hernando State College Foundation, Inc., and governmental and community relations. Ensures these functions are aligned with and advance the College's mission, strategic priorities, reputation, and resource development goals.
  2. Responsible for developing and ensuring the achievement of goals and objectives for all assigned areas within the Institutional Advancement division.
  3. Provides executive leadership and oversight for the College's marketing and communications functions, including institutional branding, marketing strategy, advertising, digital and social media, public relations, media relations, publications, internal and external communications, and crisis communications.
  4. Provides leadership, supervision, and support to the Pasco-Hernando State College Foundation, Inc., including preparation of Foundation Board and committee agendas and minutes, scheduling meetings, and providing support to the Foundation Board of Directors.
  5. Ensures that the plans and activities of the Foundation are well-integrated with those of the College through effective communication and collaboration with College administration and staff, with particular emphasis on strategies that advance institutional goals and objectives.
  6. Prepares the Foundation annual budget for Board approval and monitors Foundation investments, expenditures, and liabilities.
  7. Plans and implements a comprehensive planned giving program, including related leadership committees, written communications, events, and engagement with estate planning professionals.
  8. Plans and implements annual giving programs for employees, board members, alumni, students, and friends of the College.
  9. Promotes an active program of donor stewardship and acknowledgement and directs communications with endowed fund donors.
  10. Supervises the formation and operation of an alumni organization, including serving as chairperson of the Alumni Committee.
  11. Oversee the annual Foundation/College performing arts series.
  12. In collaboration with college administrators and community stakeholders, develops and strengthens community relationships and partnerships that support the College's mission and strategic priorities.
  13. Assists the President with federal, state, and local governmental affairs and represents the College, as appropriate, in matters related to governmental and community relations.
  14. Represents the College at meetings, councils, committees, workshops, and seminars at the community, regional, state, and national levels related to assigned areas of responsibility or as directed by the President.
  15. Coordinates, organizes, and plans special College-related functions and meetings as requested by the President.
  16. Prepares remarks, talking points, and other communications as needed for the President and Foundation Board members.
  17. Recommends new and revised policies and procedures for assigned areas to ensure compliance with College requirements and applicable state and federal laws, regulations, and policies.
  18. Performs other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICATIONS
  • Master's degree from a regionally accredited institution in the area of Higher Education, Law, Education, Government, or Public Administration.
  • Five (5) years of experience in higher education or comparable field, with progressive responsibilities within the areas of data analysis, management and supervision, and leadership.
  • Extensive experience with institutional development (planning, developing initiatives, and coordinating events) with public or private, for profit or not for profit, organizations.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES
  • Broad knowledge of effective practices to enhance student preparation, retention and completion
  • Excellent computer skills
  • Excellent communications and interpersonal skills
  • Finalist will be subject to criminal & consumer background check.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Development experience in a post-secondary education institution.
  • Three (3) or more years working as a college administrator and a documented history of building positive relationships with community stakeholders.
  • Ten (10) years of experience in education.
