Responsibilities

  • Manage vendor coding daily workflow, including work queues and turnaround times
  • Review and resolve daily PRP tasks
  • Lead and participate in meetings as needed
  • Investigate and address vendor access issues
  • Conduct pre-inventory reviews for upcoming vendor-supported projects
  • Collaborate with the Central Coding Unit on coding-related denials and rejections
  • Perform chart reviews for providers and coders as necessary
  • Keep management informed about billing issues and updates
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives
  • Prepare and present coder education based on identified trends
  • Ensure vendors comply with coding guidelines and policies
  • Communicate effectively with vendor staff and Central Coding Unit
  • Provide coding and process support to vendors
  • Encourage teamwork and high standards within vendor coding teams
  • Stay current with coding standards and federal regulations

Job Summary and Qualifications

What qualifications you will need:

As a work from home Vendor Resource Management Pro-Fee Team Lead, you will support the vendor production teams to ensure, proper workflow, consistency, and efficiency in relation to code assignment for reimbursement and reporting purposes. The Team Lead monitors and performs inventory reviews for vendor coding staff in order to validate inventory is completed within the Service Level Agreement (SLA) timeframe. The Lead also assists the VRM Manager with vendor management including monitoring processes and services for improvement, coding quality, trending/analyzing data, creating and presenting education, answering coding questions, and account follow up/resolution.

What you will do in this role:

  • Assists in managing coding vendor daily workflow (e.g., work queues, worklists, turnaround times)
  • Daily PRP review and resolution
  • Attends and/or leads meetings as needed.
  • Investigate and provide feedback on Vendor and Team access issues
  • Pre-Inventory Review of Upcoming Vendor Supported Go Lives
  • Works in conjunction with Central Coding Unit on follow up and resolution of coding related denials and rejections to address any issues.
  • Assists in performing chart reviews for providers and coders as needed.
  • Keep manager informed regarding any billing issues and updates on charge entry
  • Actively participates in the review and improvement of processes and services
  • Prepares and presents coder education as needed based on trends and/or problematic areas identified by practices or the PSC.
  • Demonstrates and applies expert level knowledge of medical coding practices and concepts; assists in ensuring vendor coders adherence with coding guidelines and policy
  • Communicates as appropriate with the vendor staff and CCU to ensure proper account resolution
  • Answers coding, abstracting, and process questions from vendors
  • Fosters an environment of teamwork and work excellence within the vendor coding teams.
  • Meets all educational requirements as stated in current Company policy
  • Reviews all official data quality standards, coding guidelines, Company policies and procedures, and clinical/medical resources, to include relevant federal regulations, to assure coding knowledge and skills remain current
