Job Description

We are seeking a first-line manager to lead the Integration & Airworthiness team within the Vehicle Systems directorate. The successful candidate will set high performance standards, maintain professionalism, and demonstrate continuous learning and analytical thinking.

This position reports to the Senior Manager of the Electronics, Integration and Labs team. The manager will oversee a functional engineering team responsible for Air Vehicle Design Engineering integration across the broader Vehicle Systems engineering team, including full-time deployed Engineering support to the Factory, Flight Line, and Sustainment Operations. This team cultivates expertise in all areas of safety-critical requirements decomposition and verification, with focus on Tier 3 to Tier 5, required for airworthiness certification.

Primary responsibilities include driving the development and implementation of functional standards within Integration & Airworthiness competencies. The manager will establish and coordinate processes, plans, and procedures to ensure timely, accurate, and focused engineering support across the enterprise. Additionally, they will develop and execute workforce competency strategies, managing and advancing a skilled team specializing in Integration & Airworthiness.

This position is expected to:
• Grow the VS Integration & Airworthiness competencies to meet program demands
• Manage the Technical workforce, planning and staffing, including manpower estimates/forecasts/planning to support programs
• Identify, mitigate and build critical/fragile skills, including planning, managing and prioritizing training and competency development to ensure Knowledge Continuity
• Lead development of a Digital Thread from Requirements thru Fabrication to Verification (utilizing MBSE/Cameo/Siemens tool suites)
• Establish Systems Engineering best practices and Re-use Ecosystem across Vehicle Systems
• Forecast and manage indirect & direct budget for the team
• Perform OBS management role responsibilities
Technically, the manager will oversee Vehicle Systems Integration & Airworthiness scope across all programs.

This role also involves collaborating on strategic direction, aligning day-to-day operational plans with long-term objectives, and maintaining situational awareness of team status. The manager will ensure the team supports the organizational tempo and participates in functional and program organizational meetings.

Strategically, the manager will work with the team to establish vision, goals, and objectives that support higher-level program and organizational outcomes. They will lead efforts to implement cost reduction initiatives and long- range plans aimed at the continuous improvement of the Vehicle Systems Integration & Airworthiness team. This includes prioritizing, planning, training, performance tracking, and coordinating organizational efforts.

Operationally, the manager will assign personnel to programs and tasks, direct resources to priority tasks, and adjust priorities based on evolving needs. They will also interface and coordinate with stakeholders and leadership from E&T, Production, Sustainment, suppliers, and customers. The successful candidate will create, support, and reward an agile team environment that fosters innovation and ensure the team's actions lead to positive business results.
Some domestic and international travel may be required.

MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN - This position is located at a facility that requires special access. The selected candidate must possess an active Interim Secret clearance to start.

Basic Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in an Engineering discipline (Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, equivalent discipline considered)
• Experience managing budget, schedule, and technical scope and associated EVM techniques
• Experience developing processes, plans, and schedules

• Systems engineering experience
• Project engineering/leadership experience

National Pay Statement

Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $128,400 - $226,435. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.

Premium Pay Statement

Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in most major metropolitan areas in California, Massachusetts, and New York is $147,700 - $255,990. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only.
