DescriptionThe VDC Project Manager is an expert BIM/VDC user, well versed in the setup, execution, and management of VDC initiatives, requirements, and personnel for selected projects. This position is responsible for creating project specific BIM Execution Plans, proposals, and managing
external client projects. This role oversees VDC personnel in the setup and management of VDC objectives for S&P's projects, including model-based estimates, phasing and sequencing plans, coordination of subcontractor models, 4D schedule simulations, work in place production
trends, and schedule look-a heads. The VDC Project Manager interfaces directly with clients, owners, and architects, and presents and markets S&P's advanced BIM processes and standards
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS- Read and understand construction documents.
- Develop and maintain data-rich 3D models.
- Condition Architect/Engineer models for estimation and construction.
- Produce and review model-based reports.
- Oversee VDC staff during the coordination of models for conflict/clash
resolution. - Develop and train junior VDC staff and supervision of VDC processes.
- Produce and review accurate and timely project monthly reports.
- Set up and maintain model-based look-ahead views and associated resources required.
- Produce 4D schedule simulations.
- Review 5D earned value models.
- Review Critical Path Method (CPM) scheduling reports.
- Prepare and manage project BIM Execution Plans.
- Prepare estimates and proposals for BIM services.
- Manage BIM requirements and deliverables.
- Utilize BIM models to support project teams and external clients.
- Present BIM information to project teams, executives, clients, and owners.
- Work directly with clients and owners to develop unique VDC/BIM solutions specific to their project.
- Work in a highly collaborative workplace.
- Facilitate collaboration with design and project teams.
- Research, analyze, and present potential new solutions to VDC department.
- Perform Return on Investment (ROI) analysis and process efficiency review of current VDC solutions.
- Prepare interview materials and interview with project teams for prospective projects.
- Perform other duties as assigned
REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS - B.A. or B.S.in Engineering, Construction Management, Construction Graphics, Architecture, or equivalent experience.
- 4 - 8 years of experience.
- Exceptional understanding of Revit, Navisworks, and Assemble Systems and their
integrated project workflows for project management and controls. - Proficient understanding of Critical Path Method (CPM) scheduling.
- Experience developing or advancing new workflows to fit project requirements for 3D, 4D, 5D+ BIM.
