Job SummaryResponsible for performing vascular ultrasound examinations on patients. This includes preparing patients for exams, operating ultrasound equipment, and interpreting ultrasound images.
Essential Functions
-Prepare patients for vascular ultrasound exams by explaining procedures, positioning patients, and applying gel to the skin.
-Operate ultrasound equipment, such as transducers and monitors, to produce images of blood vessels.
-Interpret ultrasound images to identify vascular abnormalities.
-Document exam findings in the patient's medical record.
-Communicate with physicians and other healthcare providers about exam findings.
QualificationsEducation
Associate's degree Radiologic Technology required
Licenses and Credentials
- Basic Life Support [BLS Certification]
- Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer [RDMS] - American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) preferred
- Registered Vascular Technologist [RVT] - American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) preferred
- Certified Sonographer - American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) preferred
Experience
- Prior experience working in a similar role 2-3 years required
