Position Summary

Job Summary

Manages and is accountable for project management and contract performance for multiple projects within one or more programs. Manages development or capital projects of significant complexity, scope, and strategic importance to the organization. Serves as the focal point to all stakeholders, both internal and external, for the project.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

1. Ensures customer requirements are met and are in the best interests of Parker by creating the program charter, baseline plan, and other program management components. Ensures that the cost basis and/or pricing is correct by evaluating resource requirements, and performing risk analysis. As described by AGS PRM-01 (Program Management Policy).

2. Lead the effort and defines long-term engineering plans and specific outcomes for a major project team(s). Plans tasks, approves resource requirements and effort estimates. May oversee and advise on significant contractual and customer issues.

3. Establishes direction for cross-functional team and direct reports. Facilitates and ensures effective product/technology gate reviews.

4. Partners with customers or program management to identify opportunities for product innovation.

5. Determines and leads the implementation on internal project management processes and assesses impact and trends in time and cost. Tracks and prioritizes project controls while implementing corrective actions based on variance and critical path analysis.

6. Ensures that project plans are fully integrated and include requirements from all stakeholders.

7. Responsible for full project baseline budget planning, cost accountability, and scope management. Balances cost, schedule and project requirements.

8. As the customer advocate, communicates and gains support on difficult decisions and translates into implementation plans and actions.

9. Ensures regulatory compliance and protection of competitive information and intellectual property.

10. Guides the project team to quickly identify and address complex and critical issues and to resolve problems encountered by the team.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

BA/BS degree in engineering, science, business, or a related field; PMP certification required, typically within 6 months of assignment; advanced degree (MS/MBA) preferred.

Demonstrated ability to perform the essential functions of the job typically acquired through ten or more years of related work experience with complex technical engineering and manufacturing projects and programs; may have specialized requirements. Prior project management experience of 5 or more years.

Prior cross-functional and business experience with high-technology customers, products, and processes.

Expert knowledge and proficiency with project management tools, including, but not limited to: scheduling, cost management, change control, time management, scope and resources, work breakdown structures, and risk management.

In-depth understanding of estimation methods, critical path analysis, earned value techniques. Proficiency with various financial analysis methods (cost breakdowns, risk analysis, budget, etc.)

Ability to analyze and interpret complex policies, contractual language, and financial reports.

Through knowledge of regulatory compliance and industry practices. Takes steps to safeguard Parker competitive information and intellectual property.

Recognized as a credible and trusted leader by internal peers and external partners.

Skilled at assessing cost and contract impact when negotiating alternatives. Must be able to integrate process and quality demands into the balance of resources, time, and functionality.

Effective interpersonal and presentation skills; skilled at applying negotiation principles to achieve beneficial results. Able to influence business decisions and negotiate resource allocation.

Ability to delegate authority, empower the project team, and work effectively with functional leaders.

Competitive Compensation
  • Pay Range: $120500 to $210950 annually
  • Participation in Annual Incentive Program
