Job Description: Job Overview The Aerospace, Defense & Marine (AD&M) Business Unit is seeking a Value Stream Manager to join the Mount Joy facility. The Mount Joy operation is comprised of a highly skilled workforce providing high precision machined components used in products servicing the Aerospace and Defense industry. This position reports to the Plant Manager and provides leadership to value stream leaders and employees. You work closely with other plant support functions, communicating the status of operations and requesting assistance from them when required. You achieve customer satisfaction by assuring that products are manufactured within the plant objectives for safety, productivity, quality, and delivery. Also, in this position you play a critical role in the facility's lean initiative to drive value stream transformation and continuous improvement in all aspects of the manufacturing environment. Job Requirements • Build and sustain a strong safety culture across the value stream, aligned with global standards and driven through local team engagement. • Own operational performance for the assigned value stream area, delivering against Safety, Quality, Delivery, Productivity, Cost, and Engagement targets. • Lead, coach, and develop value stream leaders across a multi-shift operation. • Define, deploy, and sustain Leader Standard Work and effective daily management routines. • Partner closely with Quality to improve right first time output through structured problem solving and focused performance reviews. • Apply lean manufacturing principles to embed a continuous improvement culture, including Kaizens and productivity initiatives. • Implement and sustain TEOA and standard work across all value stream areas. • Lead recovery actions within the assigned value streams when performance falls below plan. • Work effectively across functions including EH&S, Quality, Engineering, Supply Chain, Finance, Maintenance, Facilities, and other support teams. • Partner with Finance to manage costs, control spend, and support decisions aligned to the site P&L. • Plan capacity, skills, and flexibility across shifts to meet customer and business demand. • Ensure clear, consistent, and timely communication across shifts and functions. • Deliver short term operational results while contributing to longer term site objectives. What your background should look like • Degree in manufacturing or a related discipline preferred, or equivalent practical experience. • At least 8 years experience in a manufacturing environment, including a minimum of 4 years in a Production Manager role. • Strong lean manufacturing experience, including SMED, visual management, standard work, and daily management. • Solid understanding of industrial quality systems and compliance requirements. • Working knowledge of manufacturing finance, including cost control and budget management • Experience operating in a low volume, high mix manufacturing environment with multiple customers and suppliers. • Proven experience using SAP or a comparable ERP system in a manufacturing setting. • Clear and effective communication skills, both verbal and written. • Comfortable challenging priorities and focusing teams on the outcomes that matter most • This position requires access to information which is subject to stringent controls under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) or Export Administration Regulations (EAR).
