At the intersection of science, strategy, and commercial impact, the Value Optimization Lead plays a pivotal role in shaping the future of the Chemistry Franchise. In this role, you will drive profitable and sustainable growth by translating customer, market, competitive, and portfolio insights into high-impact growth opportunities. You will help shape and execute the franchise's five-year strategic plan, ensuring that investments, initiatives, and strategic choices are aligned to maximize growth, profitability, and long-term competitive advantage across a global life science business. In this role, you will:
  • Partner with Franchise Leadership to formulate, refine, and execute the Chemistry Franchise Strategy, identifying and prioritizing growth opportunities across markets, customer segments, and portfolio offerings.
  • Translate market trends, customer needs, competitive dynamics, and portfolio insights into actionable strategic recommendations that shape investment and resource allocation decisions.
  • Establish a consistent framework for opportunity assessment and prioritization, focusing investments on the highest-value growth opportunities.
  • Shape and strengthen portfolio narratives that clearly articulate differentiated customer value, innovation leadership, and business impact.
  • Drive Business Field-level strategy by translating competitive intelligence and business priorities into actionable growth plans, portfolio prioritization, and strategic investment decisions.
  • Support new product commercialization and innovation initiatives through value proposition development, market opportunity assessment, and monetization strategies.
  • Build a value-driven commercial culture by developing organizational capabilities in value communication and value-based decision making across the strategic marketing organization.
  • Partner with segment marketing, content, campaign, and commercial teams to translate strategy into actionable plans and frontline execution.
  • Build alignment across internal business partners and leadership teams to advance Franchise priorities, leading through influence and creating shared ownership for execution.
  • Travel domestically and internationally as required (up to 20%).


Who You Are
Basic / Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Science, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • 10 or more years of progressive experience in strategic marketing, commercial strategy, pricing, portfolio management, product management, Go-to-Market strategy, or related commercial leadership roles; OR 5 or more years in management consulting working with the life sciences or biotechnology sectors with a focus on strategy.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate complex market and customer data into clear, actionable strategic recommendations.
  • Proven experience leading cross-functional initiatives and influencing without direct authority across complex, international stakeholder networks.
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity and provide clear direction in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.


Preferred Qualifications:
  • MBA, MS, or PhD preferred.
  • Experience in the life science, biotechnology, or chemistry sector with a strong understanding of customer and market dynamics.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with senior stakeholders and present complex ideas with clarity and conviction.
  • Hypothesis-driven approach to data synthesis, with the ability to extract insights and translate them into strategic action.
  • Track record of building and executing franchise or portfolio-level strategies that deliver measurable business impact.


Pay Range for this position: $ 147,600 - 221,400 $
The offer range represents the anticipated low and high end of the base pay compensation for this position. The actual compensation offered will be determined by factors such as location, level of experience, education, skills, and other job-related factors. Position may be eligible for sales or performance-based bonuses. Benefits offered by the Company include health insurance, paid time off (PTO), retirement contributions, and other perquisites.
