SummaryThe Value Based Contracting Manager serves as a leader responsible for advancing enterprise-wide value-based payment strategy and population health contracting initiatives. This role leads the evaluation, development, and execution of innovative reimbursement models-including value-based, shared savings, and alternative payment arrangements-ensuring alignment with population health objectives, clinical integration strategies, and financial sustainability goals. This position plays a critical role in enterprise contract negotiations, performance and payer relationship management.
Job Duties- Partner with Population Health Leadership to structure, negotiate, and manage payer contracts across multiple lines of business.
- Drive enterprise contract negotiations, including shared risk, capitation, bundled payments, and alternative payment models.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Population Health, Finance, Legal, and Quality to ensure alignment between contractual terms, clinical programs, quality metrics, and operational workflows.
- Support continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to optimize contract performance, mitigate risk, and improve outcomes.
- Maintain enterprise dashboard of Payer Contract value-based performance and financial packet.
- Develop and prepare projects, reports, presentations detailing the anticipated and resulting outcomes from value-based contract negotiations.
Minimum Qualifications- Bachelor's Degree in Business.
- 5 years years of experience in healthcare finance, managed care, or healthcare/finance consulting.
- Must possess excellent organizational, analytical and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to focus on details and coordinate multiple projects simultaneously and to consistently apply standards with flexibility for various department functions.
- Ability to work independently with little to no supervision and the ability to take direction.
- Must have ability to interact with people at all levels and provide excellent customer service.
- Strong communication and advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills.
Additional QualificationsPhysical DemandsLift and carry 25 lbs. frequent sitting/standing, frequent keyboard use, *patient care providers may be required to perform activities specific to their role including kneeling, bending, squatting and performing CPR.
