VALIDATION ENGINEERYOUR ROLE
In this role, you will work with the customer and our engineering team to document and provide results for customer requirements.
RESPONSIBILITIES- Work with customer engineering to identify wiring harness design verification and product validation requirements (design specifications/testing requirements, etc.)
- Review all test procedures and develop appropriate test plans
- Provide recommendations to customers if previously identified test plan(s) do not meet the test purpose/outcome (sample size calculations, specification updates, etc.)
- Participate in wiring harness design reviews
- Identify designs that do not meet specifications (Splices, sealed terminals, etcetera)
- Provide design recommendations for cost optimization
- Identify previously validated components to use on the harness to reduce validation cost
- Facilitate all physical harness testing, including the acquisition of actual test parts and the coordination of quoting/payment process to non-Versigent test labs (if necessary)
- Communicate all design and testing non-conformances to appropriate engineering team members
- Work with the customer engineering team and provide design change recommendations for components that do not meet the various test requirements
- Work with the customer validation engineer to create documentation (if required) and identify a containment until a validated solution is in place
- Engage with Versigent labs (or outside labs if the testing is done there) to identify the root cause of test failures
- Provide periodic status updates to customer and Versigent management on testing and design review
- Obtain all documentation, data and reports from the required design reviews and test events; prepare and formally present this information to the customer engineering team for final approval/signoff
- Coordinate with the Application engineering team and the Quality/PPAP team to complete proper paperwork and prepare package to send to customer for final approval - thereby allowing shipment of harnesses to the Vehicle Assemble Plant
QUALIFICATIONS- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent experience
- Minimum of two years of experience in a validation or test role
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Ability to work onsite in Troy, MI
- Must be legally able to work in the United States without requirement of any type of visa sponsorship or transfer now, or at any time in the future
