Full Job Description
UX Engineer - Design Systems & Frontend

We're looking for a UX Engineer to take ownership of our design system and shared UI patterns, helping teams build faster and more consistently across the product.

This role lives within Engineering but works at the intersection of Design, Product, and Frontend Engineering. You'll make sure design intent actually makes it into production - by building and maintaining the reusable components, primitives, and interaction patterns that teams rely on every day. Our product operates in a heavily regulated space, including healthcare, so precision, accessibility, and consistency aren't optional - they're core to the work.

The goal: give designers and engineers dependable, production-ready building blocks so they're not reinventing the wheel on every project.

What you'll do
  • Treat the design system like a product - own its components, patterns, and usage guidelines, and keep it evolving.
  • Design and maintain reusable UI primitives and interaction patterns that hold up across multiple teams and use cases.
  • Identify and clean up frontend UX debt - inconsistencies and quality gaps that slow everyone down.
  • Build coded prototypes (using mock or synthetic data) for complex, data-heavy or AI-driven workflows.
  • Raise the bar on motion, responsiveness, and mobile experience across the product.
  • Work alongside Design and Product early in discovery to catch feasibility issues before they become rework.
  • Serve as the translation layer between design vision and technical implementation - surfacing constraints and resolving ambiguity.
  • Ship production-quality code and weigh in on system-level frontend architecture decisions.

What you bring
  • Strong frontend engineering skills - React, TypeScript, Tailwind, Storybook - with a track record of shipping real production UI.
  • Hands-on experience building or scaling design systems and component libraries.
  • A sharp eye for interaction design, usability, accessibility, and visual polish.
  • Comfort working with AI-assisted development tools to move faster.
  • Bonus: experience building products in regulated industries (healthcare, finance, insurance, or similar), where compliance and data sensitivity shape design decisions.

We offer a competitive compensation package, including the below benefits for full-time employees:
  • Strong medical, dental, and vision plans with 60% of premiums for employees and their dependents covered by 10Pearls
  • Employer-funded health reimbursement account (HRA) for the high deductible health plan option
  • Generous 401(k) plan with a 4% employer match and immediate vesting after 90 days of employment
  • Paid time off for vacation, sick/wellness, and personal leave; separate paid parental leave program
  • Employer-paid short term, long term, life, and AD&D insurance
  • Additional voluntary insurance programs, including life & AD&D, critical illness, cancer, and hospital indemnity for employees and dependents
  • Full access to Tysons Corner Headquarters office with amenities: a state-of-the-art gym, fully stocked kitchen with snacks and cold brew coffee on tap, and free parking on-site
