Position Overview

Cyber B.A.T. is seeking a User Experience (UX) Designer to support mission-critical programs by leading the planning, design, and development of intuitive, user-centered experiences for mission applications, devices, tools, and systems. This role works closely with customers, engineers, developers, and subject matter experts to transform complex mission requirements into effective, engaging, and efficient user experiences.

The ideal candidate combines strong visualization and interaction design skills with a collaborative mindset to deliver innovative solutions that enhance mission success.

What You'll Do
  • Lead the planning, design, and development of user experiences for mission systems, applications, devices, and tools
  • Establish user interface and interaction design standards that promote consistency and usability
  • Collaborate with customers and stakeholders to gather, analyze, and refine user requirements
  • Develop wireframes, mock-ups, prototypes, and screen designs that communicate user workflows and application functionality
  • Participate in design trade-off discussions with software developers, engineers, and subject matter experts
  • Evaluate existing toolsets and recommend improvements to enhance user experience and operational effectiveness
  • Apply visualization and human-centered design principles to create intuitive, accessible, and engaging interfaces
  • Help customers envision and adopt new interaction techniques, workflows, and technologies
  • Work closely with development teams throughout the software lifecycle to ensure design intent is successfully implemented
  • Incorporate user feedback and usability findings into iterative design improvements
  • Create design documentation and user experience artifacts that support development and stakeholder communication
  • Advocate for usability best practices and user-centered design across mission programs

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications
  • Active TS/SCI Clearance with a current Maryland Polygraph
  • Experience leading user experience, interaction design, or user interface design efforts
  • Experience gathering and translating user requirements into intuitive design solutions
  • Experience creating wireframes, mock-ups, prototypes, and screen designs
  • Experience collaborating with software developers, engineers, customers, and multidisciplinary teams
  • Strong understanding of user-centered design, usability principles, and information visualization
  • Experience facilitating design discussions and balancing user needs with technical constraints
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to translate complex technical concepts into user-friendly experiences
  • Ten years' experience in User Experience Design. Five years' experience within the last 10 years experience leading project life cycle design. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required. Four (4) years of additional User Experience Design experience on projects with similar design may be substituted for a bachelor's degree.
