Position Summary...
Provides overall leadership and strategic direction for store operations by developing associates, driving operational excellence, and executing company initiatives. Oversees financial performance through effective management of sales, expenses, merchandising, inventory flow, and operational processes while ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory standards. Models Walmart's customer-first culture by delivering exceptional service, fostering community engagement, and maintaining a high-performance environment. Builds and develops talent through recruiting, training, coaching, succession planning, and creating a culture of accountability and belonging. Upholds Walmart's values by leading with integrity, collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.

What you'll do...
Leadership & Strategic Direction
  • Develops, communicates, and executes a strategic vision aligned with company, market, and local business plans to guide store operations, merchandising, and overall business direction.
  • Leads and develops salaried managers and hourly associates in complex and fast-paced retail environments.
  • Provides direction, coaching, and support to leadership teams to ensure operational excellence and consistent execution of company initiatives.
  • Communicates business priorities, operational updates, merchandising strategies, and company direction effectively across all levels of the organization.
  • Champions change initiatives by aligning teams, setting expectations, and driving accountability for results.

Associate Development & Talent Management
  • Recruits, hires, trains, mentors, and develops associates and leaders to build high-performing teams and strong succession pipelines.
  • Addresses workforce challenges such as high turnover, engagement concerns, recruiting difficulties, and associate development opportunities.
  • Conducts performance evaluations, provides recognition, and fosters a culture of accountability, engagement, and belonging.
  • Supports workforce development through mentorship, coaching, and continuous learning opportunities.

Customer Experience Excellence
  • Models exceptional customer service behaviors and reinforces Walmart's One Best Way (OBW) service standards.

  • Drives sales and financial performance by analyzing key business metrics, Profit & Loss statements, forecasting trends, and controlling expenses.
  • Oversees merchandising execution, inventory flow, replenishment processes, seasonal transitions, and operational efficiency.
  • Implements strategies to reduce shrink, improve productivity, and achieve sales and profit goals.
  • Develops and executes action plans to address operational or financial performance gaps.
  • Partners with market leadership to improve margins, increase sales, and align business strategies with customer and community needs.

Compliance, Safety & Asset Protection
  • Ensures compliance with company policies, procedures, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Oversees asset protection, operational audits, safety reviews, and quality assurance processes.
  • Develops and implements corrective action plans to address compliance or operational deficiencies.
  • Maintains strong relationships with federal, state, and local agencies when necessary.

Community Engagement & Public Relations
  • Leads community outreach and engagement initiatives that strengthen relationships between the store and the local community.

Live Better U is a Walmart-paid education benefit program for full-time and part-time associates in Walmart and Sam's Club facilities. Programs range from high school completion to bachelor's degrees, including English Language Learning and short-form certificates. Tuition, books, and fees are completely paid for by Walmart.

Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment. Benefits are subject to change and may be subject to a specific plan or program terms.

The annual salary range for this position is $110,000.00 - $170,000.00

Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.

Additional compensation for certain positions may also include :

- Regional Pay Zone (RPZ) (based on location)

- Complex Structure (based on external factors that create challenges)
