What you'll do...
Role summary:
The (USA) Software Engineer III will contribute to the design and development of software solutions by collaborating with cross-functional teams during project discovery and implementation phases. This role involves troubleshooting production issues, performing root cause analysis, and delivering sustainable, high-quality code aligned with business requirements. The engineer will manage complex projects, support continuous integration and deployment, and provide technical guidance to small engineering groups. A strong focus on problem-solving, technical acumen, and adherence to coding and security standards is essential to ensure timely delivery and operational excellence.
About the team:
The Walmart Fulfillment Engine (WFE) team delivers accurate fulfillment options across Walmart's broad product range, including groceries, entertainment, sporting goods, and crafts. This team develops and maintains applications that determine optimal delivery dates and shipping or pickup choices. Working closely with cross-functional teams, WFE focuses on scalable and reliable solutions to enhance customer satisfaction. The team embraces continuous improvement by leveraging advanced technologies and best practices to ensure high-quality software aligned with Walmart's platform and business objectives. Commitment to innovation and collaboration drives the team's success in meeting evolving customer needs.
What you'll do:

What you'll bring:
  • Proven expertise in object-oriented programming and coding standards using languages such as Java, JavaScript or Python.
  • Strong experience in platform design, API development, and component services with a focus on scalable, maintainable solutions.
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct root cause analysis, troubleshoot complex issues, and implement effective solutions.
  • Proficiency in iterative and incremental development, continuous integration, and continuous delivery practices.
  • Solid understanding of testing methodologies, defect management, and quality assurance processes.
  • Ability to collaborate cross-functionally and guide small engineering teams to deliver on project goals.

The annual salary range for this position is $117,000.00 - $234,000.00

Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.
