Urgent Care Veterinarian - Galaxy Vets Urgent Care & Walk-In: Truro

Located at 201 Robie Street in Truro, Nova Scotia - Galaxy Vets Urgent Care & Walk-In is a part of the Galaxy Vets family, a new employee-owned veterinary healthcare system with a mission to give Veterinary Medicine back to Veterinary Professionals.

Our urgent care model provides an engaging caseload, focusing on Urgent Care and Emergency cases and we are looking to add another DVM to our team!

The Candidate
• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from an accredited university
• Licensure in good standing to practice in the province of Nova Scotia
• Interested in learning more about Business Acumen and Ownership

The Position

Medical:
• Perform physical examinations, diagnose, and develop treatment plans for each individual patient
• Review and analyze lab results and diagnostic records
• Perform surgical intervention as needed (Pyometra, Foreign Body, Cystotomy, being the most common)
• Transition patients to overnight care as needed and communicate effectively with referral hospitals in order to ensure continuity of patient care
• Document patient medical and surgical records with detail
• Develop a rapport with clients, understand their desires, clearly communicate plans and findings
