Full Job Description
Upstream Global Product Manager, Medical Device is responsible for identifying, evaluating, and advancing future growth opportunities across assigned product categories by transforming customer, clinical, and market insights into portfolio strategy, product development priorities, and commercialization plans that drive long-term growth, innovation, and adoption. This role partners with cross-functional stakeholders to identify unmet needs, shape investment decisions, and help bring innovative solutions to market that deliver meaningful value to customers and the business.

This position reports to the Director, Product Management, is part of the Global Product Management Team, and is located onsite in Cincinnati, Ohio.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
  • Lead market discovery and Voice of Customer research to identify unmet clinical and customer needs, evaluate market dynamics and emerging technologies, and translate insights into prioritized growth opportunities for assigned products and categories.
  • Define and advance product and portfolio strategy by developing roadmaps, assessing market opportunities, shaping pricing recommendations, and building business cases that guide investment prioritization and portfolio expansion.
  • Own commercial leadership throughout product development by representing customer and market requirements, partnering with R&D and cross-functional teams through tollgates, and helping ensure solutions deliver meaningful clinical, customer, and business value.
  • Lead global positioning and commercialization strategy by creating differentiated value propositions, messaging, launch plans, sales enablement, and training while partnering with regional and commercial teams to support effective market activation.
  • Optimize lifecycle performance and portfolio health by monitoring relevant business and customer metrics, identifying opportunities to improve adoption, revenue, profitability, and satisfaction, and informing sustaining and end-of-life decisions.


The essential requirements of the job include:
  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, communications, sales, engineering, life sciences, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in product management, product marketing, medical device sales, medical device or pharmaceutical marketing, engineering, clinical marketing, or a related role.
  • Experience gathering customer, clinical, or market insights and translating findings into product requirements, business cases, portfolio recommendations, or related decisions.
  • Experience contributing to product strategy, product development, commercialization, portfolio management, or related business decisions.
  • Experience partnering across functions such as Sales, R&D, Operations, Supply Chain, Clinical, Service, Finance, or regional teams.


Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements:
  • Up to 20% travel, including both domestic and international locations.
  • Travel assignments typically range from 1-7 days with overnight stays.
  • Requirements include walking, sitting, standing, and handling objects.
  • Travel by car and air is necessary, with potential long wait times.
  • Predominantly office-based work with a quiet to moderate noise level.


It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
  • Experience in product management with an emphasis on upstream activities such as market discovery, Voice of Customer research, portfolio strategy, product development, or business-case development.
  • Experience in healthcare, medical devices, diagnostics, pharmaceuticals, or another regulated industry.
  • Experience supporting successful product launches, portfolio expansions, or strategic growth initiatives.

The annual salary range for this role is $120,000 to $135,000. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. This range may be modified in the future.

This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
