Position Summary:
The Director of Nursing Education plans, coordinates, implements and evaluates education for support and nursing personnel and patients to include orientation, in-service training, professional development and continuing education. Participate in Nursing Quality Improvement activities.
Education and Certification:
1. Holds a current Texas permit or license as a Registered Nurse.
2. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required upon hire.
3. Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) preferred upon hire
Training and Experience:
1. Certification in desired specialty within three (3) years of hire preferred
2. Minimum of two (2) - three (3) years of clinical experience.
3. Two (2) years of teaching in clinical setting preferred
4. Excellent communication skills with ability to be assertive and to follow through with limited supervision.
5. Demonstrated ability to promote, negotiate, develop, and maintain relationships with consumers.
6. Demonstrated management skills and leadership ability.
7. Ability to guide and motivate physicians, peers, subordinates, and management.
