Job Type: Full Time, Seasonal
Schedule: 10+ hours per day, 6 & 1, OT after 8hr/day or 44hr/week

Location: Edmonton, and surrounding areas. No direct access to public transportation.
Essential: Hard-working, reliable, flexible with schedule, ability to work in physically demanding conditions
Requirements:
- Personal Reliable Vehicle
- CSA approved steel toed boots with 6” ankle support
- Clean Driver’s Abstract, Valid Driver’s License
Pre-employment:
- Drug and alcohol testing (swab-based test)
- Successful completion of Company Orientation and site-specific orientation
Superintendent Responsibilities:
- Plan and coordinate construction operations with the ability to utilize available equipment while maintaining a schedule and completing critical tasks.
- Supervise the foreman’s daily activities; ensuring their crews tasks are performed efficiently.
- Ensuring all safety practice and procedures are followed by generating site-specific safety protocols.
- Read and interpret construction plans and blueprints.
- Coordinating and managing scheduling conflicts between sub-contractors.
- Maintaining records of daily construction activities, including worker timesheets, daily progress reports and safety documentation.
- Maintaining positive and professional relationships with external stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable health and safety regulations.
- Promote, execute and adhere to the company’s safety program, and encourage all employees, subcontractors and consultants to adopt safety as a culture.

Superintendent Qualifications:
- 10 or more year’s combined field experience in Civil Construction (earthworks and/or underground utilities) with a minimum of 5 years as a superintendent in heavy civil construction.
- Effective leadership skills with a strong focus on operations and business processes.
- Ability to plan and manage to a project schedule.
- Ability to anticipate stakeholder needs, investigate the underlying causes and identify short/long term solutions.
