Full Job Description
We are currently looking for a certified, or soon-to-be certified, Ultrasound Team Lead to join our Savanna clinic team. Overseeing the clinic's ultrasound team and associated services, this role includes hands-on diagnostic imaging, and coaching ultrasound technologists to strengthen their development. Working collaboratively with radiologists and other healthcare professionals, you'll identify opportunities to improve processes and enhance clinic operations. Bringing compassion and clarity to each patient interaction, you'll help ensure remarkable care at every visit.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Perform Ultrasound Exams: Conduct routine and specialized sonography imaging under the direction of Radiologists and referring Physicians, while adhering to departmental protocols and guidelines.
  • People and Technical Leadership: Support and mentor the Ultrasound Technologist team at the Savanna clinic, helping both individuals and the team succeed. This includes contributing to performance management, staff retention, skillset training, and supporting the clinic's growth and ongoing improvement.
  • Provide Remarkable Care: Explain exams and procedures, address questions, ease concerns, and help patients feel comfortable.
  • Collaborate with Clinic Teams: Partner with radiologists and clinic teams to enhance patient experience.
  • Expand Expertise: Engage in ongoing professional development to refine existing skills, and specialize in additional skillsets such as Interventional, MSK, Breast and more.
  • Improve Processes: Contribute to initiatives and process improvements that drive sustainable change, using data to inform decisions.
  • Ensure Compliance: Follow privacy, confidentiality, safety, and other regulatory requirements, including completion of required imaging audits.
  • Monitor and Troubleshoot Systems: Oversee ultrasound equipment maintenance, track equipment performance, document findings, and resolve basic issues.

What We're Looking For
  • Professional Membership: Certified Registered Generalist Sonographer (CRGS) through Sonography Canada, or eligible to obtain. Current registration with the Alberta College of Medical Diagnostic and Therapeutic Technologists (ACMDTT), or eligibility for registration.
  • Ultrasound Experience: Clinical competency as a sonographer, with an interest in refining and expanding skills in advanced practice areas such as MSK, OB/GYN, vascular and cardiac exams, and interventional procedures.
  • Leadership Excellence: Proven ability to coach, mentor, and lead teams, helping with performance management, contributing to retention and recruitment and supporting the clinic's growth and ongoing improvement.
  • Specialized Knowledge: Training in MSK, OB/GYN, breast, vascular, or cardiac ultrasound exams, or in interventional procedures is considered an asset.
  • Technology Proficiency: Experienced with Microsoft Office and patient management systems (e.g., RIS), along with an understanding of departmental equipment.
