Compensation & Benefits:
• Salary: $6,590 - $7,458 per month with up to a 3% increase after successful completion of probation and required academy training.
• Comprehensive healthcare coverage for you and your family is fully funded by the state.
• New Hire Leave - eligible new team members are granted up to 40 hours of new hire leave upon hire to use within the first year of employment.

Work Environment:
On-site housing is provided as part of this role, and the Park Manager is expected to reside within the park to support operational needs.

Minimum Qualifications

Candidates must meet one of the following education and experience pathways:
• Bachelor's degree in park management, natural resources, recreation, hospitality, environmental studies, public administration, or a related field; or
• Associate's degree in park management, natural resources, recreation, hospitality, environmental studies, public administration, or a related field, plus two years of progressively responsible relevant experience; or
• Five years of progressively responsible relevant experience in park operations, natural resources management, recreation, conservation, hospitality, public service, military education or training, or a related field; or
• An equivalent combination of education and relevant experience demonstrating the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to successfully perform the work.

In addition to the education and experience requirements, candidates must meet the following requirements:
• Four or more years of leadership, team management, or supervisory experience, including experience leading staff, volunteers, projects, programs, or daily operations.
• Four or more years of customer service or public-facing experience, particularly in parks, recreation, conservation, hospitality, retail, public service, military education/training, or a similar service-oriented environment.
• Successful completion of the North Dakota Peace Officer License or EMT-B certification within 24 months of hire. The training required will be provided and funded by the agency.
• Be willing and able to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events, particularly during peak operating seasons.
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with budgeting, maintenance planning, and operational oversight.
• Experience in community outreach and business development including marketing services, managing event spaces, or building partnerships with local organizations.
• A valid driver's license is required.

Preferred Qualifications
• Experience managing park, recreation, campground, or outdoor recreation operations.
• Experience managing park facilities, infrastructure, capital projects, or major maintenance.
• Experience administering grants or managing contracts and external service providers.
• Experience working with government agencies, tribes, nonprofits, contractors, and community partners.
• Experience in natural resource stewardship, outdoor recreation planning, or environmental compliance.
