What You'll Be DoingJob Scope: Generally responsible for planning and scheduling heavy industrial engineering projects, monitoring project costs and/or estimating projects. Work will be performed under minimal supervision.
Primary responsibilities will include but are not limited to: - Developing schedules and analysis for contract packages to forecast construction activities and identify coordination issues where safety and schedule can potentially be in conflict.
- Developing, monitoring and updating schedules by obtaining updates through meetings, construction coordination interviews and field verification.
- Complete understanding of Earned Value and Project Productivity.
- Monitoring and maintaining the change notice/change order management system.
- Assisting in facilitating weekly change notice hearings and change committee meetings.
- Developing, monitoring, and updating schedules.
- Establishing a progressive system for projects.
- Assisting clients and teammates in developing construction and contract strategies for constructability of projects as it pertains to logistics and safety.
- Prepare plans & documentation covering known & SCR requests to enable area work to be completed in the most cost-effective manner
- Prepare job plans for all work in assigned area using, materials request, contractor instructions
- Attach all relevant documentation to the plan, including: Drawings, Photos, Test procedures, Cleaning procedures
- Validate job plans as part of the validation team
- Prepare work books for all supervisors in assigned area with copies of all paperwork needed
- Work with all foremen to assist work familiarization
- Work with Scheduler to develop framework for turnaround schedule
- Attend daily SCR meeting to understand new work for their area
- Ensure that SCR work is planned and passed to scheduler for adding to the schedule
- Monitor SCR material availability to allow management of SCR work
- Work with foremen to identify changes needed on regular job plans and make the changes for future re-use
- Ensure seamless handoff of work from trades to QA/QC and then to Operations
- Review work is being performed in plant in accordance with job plans in conjunction with foreman
- Ensure all job packs are properly closed out
Ideal BackgroundEducation: High School Diploma or equivalent is required. Bachelor or Master of Science degree in Construction Science, Building Science or related field is highly preferred.
Certification: AACE International or Project Management Institute (PMI) certification is preferred.
Experience: This position requires 5+ years of relevant industrial experience in planning, scheduling, cost control and estimating.

- Experienced in scheduling professional service hours and assessing the progress and quality of project controls work. Ability to accurately estimate completion of assigned tasks.
- Proficient in the use of Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project scheduling software.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office.
Physical Requirements: - Ability to sit, stand or walk for long periods of time.
