Treasury Accountant

Department: PSG Accounting

Employment Type: Full Time

Location: Clackamas

Reporting To: Blake Gjesdal

Compensation: $80,000 - $100,000 / month

Description

Summary:
The Treasury Accountant is responsible for managing daily treasury activities, cash positioning, bank account administration, debt and intercompany accounting, cash forecasting, and treasury-related financial reporting. This role works closely with accounting, finance, accounts payable, and banking partners to ensure effective cash management, accurate financial records, and compliance with internal controls and company policies.

Key Responsibilities

Cash Management & Treasury Operations
  • Monitor daily cash balances and liquidity across company bank accounts.
  • Prepare and maintain daily cash position reports.
  • Track bank transfers, wire payments, ACH transactions, and other treasury activities.
  • Assist with short-term cash forecasting and liquidity planning.
  • Ensure sufficient funding is available to meet operational requirements.

Accounting & Reconciliations
  • Prepare and record treasury-related journal entries, including cash, debt, intercompany, interest, and bank fees.
  • Reconcile bank accounts and treasury-related general ledger accounts on a timely basis.
  • Investigate and resolve reconciling items and banking discrepancies.
  • Support period-end close processes.

Financial Reporting
  • Assist in preparing treasury schedules and supporting documentation for financial reporting.
  • Maintain debt, intercompany, and lease accounting records as applicable.
  • Support the preparation of cash flow reporting and related analyses.
  • Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and company accounting policies.

Banking & Compliance
  • Maintain bank account documentation, authorized signers, and online banking access controls.
  • Coordinate with banking partners regarding account maintenance and treasury services.
  • Support internal and external audits by providing treasury-related documentation and analyses.
  • Maintain compliance with internal controls and treasury policies.

Analysis & Process Improvement
  • Analyze cash trends and identify opportunities to improve cash management processes.
  • Assist with enterprise and treasury system implementations, banking integrations, and process automation initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain treasury reports, dashboards, and performance metrics.
  • Recommend improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and control.


What you bring to Pacific Seafood

Required:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
  • 3-6 years of accounting, treasury, or finance experience.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
  • Experience with bank reconciliations and cash management.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred:
  • Corporate treasury experience.
  • Experience with ERP systems such as AS400O, Microsoft Dynamics, or NetSuite.
  • Experience with the Wells Fargo and/or Bank of America online banking platforms.
  • Knowledge of treasury management systems.
  • Experience working in a well-controlled environment.
