Transportation Supervisor
In this role, you will coordinate the company's shipping and customer delivery activities, managing both company-employed truck drivers and external transportation services. The position offers a competitive salary of $105,000 plus performance bonus, commensurate with experience.
Functions- Develop and manage dispatch schedules based on production planning, utilizing both company and external drivers as needed.
- Interview and screen candidates for truck driver positions, ensuring compliance with DOT licensing, substance abuse screening, and company standards.
- Oversee the preparation of bills of lading, secure optimal freight rates, and manage less-than-truckload shipments.
- Conduct spot checks on loading patterns to ensure shipments meet company and customer requirements.
- Collaborate with Customer Service to address customer needs and ensure satisfaction.
Qualifications- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with proficiency in computer systems.
- High school diploma required; a BS in Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related field is a plus.
- Experience in supervising personnel and knowledge of scheduling or tractor-trailer maintenance preferred.
