Job Description

This position will be based in Wasilla. This position requires a dynamic individual who will be responsible for the daily operational management of our line haul fleet including professional drivers and dispatchers. Due to constantly changing variables, this position requires the ability to analyze all available information to make optimal decisions. As customer service and lasting relationships are essential to the company, the position will work closely with customers to ensure critical deliveries consistently meet expectations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Responsible for hiring, training, evaluating, and retaining qualified drivers while emphasizing safety & customer service. Maintaining a general rapport with drivers is important.
  • Responsible for coordinating vehicle repairs with the Fleeet Maintenance Manager
  • Responsible for overseeing driver regulatory compliance including hours of service, DOT, and FMCSA requirements, etc.
  • Managing and working alongside the dispatch team. Maintaining proper communication while backing up dispatch duties when necessary.
  • Work to ensure fleet maintenance and scheduling of equipment integrates seamlessly with daily operations. Fleet appearance and maintenance integrity are very important.
  • Utilize fleet management software to ensure all safety, compliance, maintenance, dispatch, and tracking is monitored and maintained in accordance with company and regulatory standards.
  • Participate in regular transportation and supply meetings.
  • Maintain product knowledge and fuel quality assurance protocols are met.
  • Build and maintain relationships with customers and suppliers.
  • The ability to work closely and communicate effectively with the management team is critical.
  • Participate in monthly safety meetings and implement any needed changes to the safety program.

ESSENTIAL JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Education: High School diploma or GED is required.

Transportation: Must have background in trucking logistics. Experience in line haul truck driving, possessing a current CDL with Hazmat endorsement is preferred but not necessary.

Other Qualifications: Must be able to work cooperatively with others. Must possess the ability to make decisions using pre-defined guidelines. Must possess a desire to perform at a high level taking personal pride in a job or task accomplished.

Attendance: Regular attendance is a requirement of this position. Position is Monday - Friday 8:00am - 5:00pm. Due to the operating hours of the fleet and our customer requirements, after-hours availability is required.

English Language: Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
