TRANSPORTATION ENGINEER - WISDOT / CIVIL INFRASTRUCTUREBurlington & New Berlin, Wisconsin | $75,000-$120,000 + Bonus PotentialThis role offers the opportunity to work independently, contribute directly to project design and delivery, mentor staff, communicate with clients and agencies, and continue developing toward greater project and leadership responsibility.
What You'll Do
- Design transportation, municipal, and site civil projects using AutoCAD Civil 3D and other design software.
- Complete civil engineering and related surveying tasks while working independently with minimal oversight.
- Prepare reports and permits for transportation, municipal, and site civil projects.
- Use AutoCAD and Civil 3D in the preparation of surveys, site plans, grading plans, utility plans, construction layout, and staking.
- Perform construction observation and field services as requested.
- Assist with the training and oversight of staff and direct staff on assigned project tasks.
- Communicate regularly with project teams, clients, peers, public agencies, and other project stakeholders.
- Support proposal requests, contract preparation, and project-management activities.
- Assist with tracking project budgets without direct billing responsibility.
- Participate in limited client-management and marketing responsibilities as the role develops.
What We're Looking For
- 4+ years of relevant civil/transportation engineering experience.
- 4+ years of experience working with or on Wisconsin Department of Transportation projects.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
- PE registration and participation in a professional organization are preferred.
- Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D and transportation, municipal, and/or site civil design.
- Ability to work independently, communicate effectively, and provide direction to project staff.
- Ability to provide overtime when necessary to meet project deadlines.
