Full Job Description
Moffatt & Nichol specializes in large complex waterfront infrastructure projects and is recognized as one of the worldwide leaders in this field. We are actively looking for a Senior Transportation Engineer to join our Costa Mesa office. As part of the Transportation Group, the Senior Transportation Engineer leads multidisciplinary teams in the identification, pursuit, and successful delivery of major infrastructure projects, including highway, roadway, bridge, transit and rail design across the state, US and internationally.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Builds and manages key client relationships through deep client knowledge, client relationships, and industry leadership
  • Coordinates and collaborates with clients, regulatory/review entities, engineering disciplines, sub-consultants, for successful project pursuits and project delivery
  • Identifies needed internal and external resources to maintain and expand industry leadership and market competitiveness
  • Leads a multi-disciplinary team of planners, designers, business analysts, and other disciplines to successfully deliver project plans, specifications, reports, and other deliverables and outcomes to clients and partners
  • Monitors, tracks and reports engineering, schedule, and budget progress at the program and project level

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil, Structural, or Transportation Engineering; Required; Master's degree in Civil, Transportation or related business degree; required
  • Professional Engineer license (PE) in CA; required
  • 20+ years of experience leading Southern California transportation project pursuits, project delivery teams, and overall infrastructure improvement projects; required
  • Ability to interface with local clients as firm representative; required
  • Excellent oral, presentation, and written communication and negotiation skills
  • All new hires will be required to successfully complete and pass a pre-employment (post offer) background check in compliance with NIST 800-171

Working conditions:

Majority of work is office based.

Base salary range:

$274,000 to $360,000 based on years of experience, level of education obtained, professional registration, and meeting the required qualifications in the job description.

Base salary range only applicable for candidates who will be hired and working in the California market.
