Your future position: Transportation Engineer III

About the role, Your Impact

Baxter & Woodman has a rewarding opportunity for a Transportation Engineer III in our Peoria, IL office. This position will primarily consist of design engineering efforts on a variety of transportation projects and field presence for State, County, and Local Agencies. This team-orientated position will include working with Baxter & Woodman's diverse disciplines and offices within the transportation and construction fields.

What your day-to-day will look like
  • Manage/Complete engineering plans and specifications production using IDOT Standards.
  • Complete Federal Aid projects for a variety of clients.
  • Lead a variety of projects and study types including roadway, underground utility, drainage, traffic, and infrastructure improvements.
  • Complete general civil engineering services for municipal, county and state clients.
  • Assist with business development and client management opportunities for transportation and infrastructure projects is preferred but not required.
  • Coordinate construction activities with clients, inspectors, contractors and public agencies.
  • Conduct on-site observation of work, repairs, and tests as needed.

Education/Certification Requirements

  • Licensed Professional Engineer in Illinois (or ability to acquire within 6 mos.)

  • 5+ years of relevant experience with municipal or highway agency transportation projects.
  • Knowledge of OpenRoads Designer and/or AutoCAD Civil 3D, Civil 3D.
  • Ability to travel throughout Baxter & Woodman's service area (own transportation).
  • Ability to independently handle a variety of ongoing tasks and responsibilities.
  • Strong written, verbal, computer, and organizational skills.

Compensation The pay range for this role is $90,000 to $120,000. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, and certifications.
