Job Description:

This is an engineering position through the field inspection of bridges, structures and minor spans. The incumbent will be responsible for inspecting bridges statewide in accordance with National Bridge Inspection Standards (23CFR 650) and collecting element level data, both of which is collected electronically using AssetWise bridge inspection software. The incumbent shall identify bridge deficiencies, take digital photos, simple and submit reports, and identify needed repairs. The incumbent is responsible for developing schedules and strategies in order to deliver their annual inspection effort. The incumbent will also be performing the structural load ratings and scour analysis. Strong technical, interpersonal and teaming skills are required. Work is performed under limited supervision.

To be minimally qualified for this position candidates must provide evidence of the following experience:

Licensure as a Professional Engineer which includes at least two (2) years of work experience which demonstrates independent design, engineering analysis based on established standards, and progressively responsible work overseeing complex engineering projects with increased accountability.

Licensing/Registration/Certification Requirements:

Licensure as a professional engineer as issued by the Maine State Board of Licensure for Professional Engineers.
