- Establish and monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for carrier performance, including On-Time In-Full (OTIF) delivery, damage rates, and billing accuracy.
- Maintain strong strategic relationships with key transportation providers and 3PL partners.
- Manage the annual transportation budget and P&L performance, analyzing variances and implementing cost-saving measures.
- Oversee daily dispatch, freight scheduling, load planning, and routing operations across all sites.
- Partner with warehouse operations, customer service, and procurement teams to align supply chain demand with transportation capacity.
- Ensure full compliance with federal, state, and international transportation laws and regulations (e.g., DOT, FMCSA, OSHA, EPA, and Hazmat guidelines).
- Enforce strict fleet safety protocols, driver safety training, and risk mitigation strategies across owned/leased assets.
- Drive the adoption, maintenance, and optimization of Transportation Management Systems (TMS), telematics, and visibility platforms.
- Leverage freight data analytics and business intelligence tools to track performance trends, forecast capacity needs, and automate workflows.
At a minimum you'll need:- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
