Advertised Job Summary

The Office of Research is seeking to hire a Translational Imaging Center Core Director to join our team.

The Core Director of the Translational Imaging Center (TIC ) at the University of South Carolina is a pivotal role responsible for the daily management, strategic development, and operational excellence of the core facility. This position provides scientific leadership in collaboration with the Scientific Director, consulting with researchers on projects, and overseeing and performing various neuroimaging-related projects. Responsibilities also include managing daily lab operations, supervising staff and trainees, overseeing MRI data collection and analysis, and ensuring compliance with institutional and regulatory standards.

Minimum Qualifications (Classified and Unclassified positions)

Preferred Qualifications
• Ph.D. in neuroscience, psychology, or a related field.
• Expertise in MRI -based neuroimaging, research design, and lab management. Strong record of scientific writing, grant preparation and use of data collection tools.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
• Knowledge of MRI safety standards, screening procedures, and regulatory requirements.
• Skills in research design, experimental methods, and statistical principles.
• Knowledge with laboratory administration and operational management practices.
• Ability to oversee MRI research operations while ensuring participant safety and regulatory compliance.
